The Co-founder and CEO, Hanish Kathuria shared with us the meaning and story behind the name of the company, in Swahili, a language widely spoken in East African countries, the word ‘Rafiki’ means ‘friend.’

He says “My trip to Kenya in 2009 made an everlasting mark on me.” When I was traveling through Kenya’s interior, I struck up a discussion with a cab driver named Anthony, who kept calling me Rafiki. I inquired about the meaning of the term out of curiosity. In Swahili, that means my beloved buddy,’ he said. I called my organization ‘Rafiki’ as a homage to the wonderful people of Kenya and to the affection I have for the nation. It symbolizes our organization’s fundamental principles and represents the honesty, dependability, and dedication we provide to our clients.
