“The King of Instrumental Pop” Dom Okon talks about 3rd album Just Dom

Dom Okon released his first studio album in April 2022, titled “Youthly”. The record brought him enormous success as it went onto chart on the U.S. iTunes Top 100. Okon in November 2023 released his second studio album titled “Emergent”. The album also did well and went on to claim a spot on the South African iTunes Top 100 and All Genres Chart. Going #1 and #2 in the South African region respectively. The instrumental artist is happy to share new details about his new album titled “Just Dom” which is set to release in June.

We had a great time hanging out with Dom Okon over the weekend. His schedule was quite busy, but we were able to squeeze sometime in to chat with him. You can check out our interview below:

What is new about the “Just Dom” album?

It is of the Alternative genre so that is something that I’ve never done before. Also, I feel like this album is slower or less melodic than past records.

What is the theme of “Just Dom”?

This album’s theme is a bit different. With “Just Dom” I think the message is that I’m content with moving onto the next phase of my life. I’m done with my teenage years and I’m ready to explore the future and the many opportunities that lay ahead of me.

How is this album in terms of length and songs?

There are still an adequate amount of songs but this album is a bit shorter in length than “Youthly” or “Emergent.”

What is your hope for your new record?

I hope that people like it. I hope they enjoy the songs on the album and that they can relate to the story being told in some ways.

Conclusion

It was a great time with Dom Okon. He had a lot of positive energy. He was calm and easy to talk. The friendly vibes were great and kept me wanting to talk more. We did discuss other things, but we’ll save that for another time. We wish him great success in the future and cannot wait to hear more music from him.

Despite his many accomplishments, Dom Okon remains humble and dedicated to both his art and business. He continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in music production and record label management. With a commitment to innovation and artistic excellence, He continues to shape the landscape of the music industry.
