“The Stage Respects Me Because I Worship It”, Says Kolkata’s Best Emcee Ankit Shaw

The first step towards success is discipline followed by hard work, dedication and the talent one possesses at work. Having these qualities all together makes Ankit Shaw one of the most promising emcees not just in Kolkata but all over India. The award-winning anchor is widely known for his wit and classy approach to any event. To this date, he has hosted more than 1000 live shows and 500 offline shows across India and different parts of the world. His recent international event was a mega-blockbuster hit which was spread across 3 countries – Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. The grand event was on a cruise where he hosted the Bengali wedding as well as Christian wedding simultaneously.
A thorough professional in his work, he quoted, “I believe in professionalism and punctuality in my work. Right from developing content to doing research about a particular event, I do my homework properly and pay attention to the detailing of the event. At times, paying attention to smaller things matters the most. The stage respects me because I worship it.” Shaw’s life has been a roller-coaster journey and in his career, the versatile emcee has hosted many events social events, award shows, Sports events, corporate events, press conferences, Product launch events, live concerts, wedding reception, and much more. However, his speech at TEDx remains as his biggest milestone where he represented himself and his hometown Kolkata.
“The turning point which changed my work-life was when I gave a nod to do a sports event. Within a fraction of seconds, I said Yes. It has been 2 years and I just knew that I would either make it or break it. But not trying will make me regret for the rest of my life. Trying is a sign of true winners”, he stated. In these years of dedication and hard work, the 24-year old anchor has worked as a crime journalist, cultural presenter, and content writer as well. Besides this, he has also been a trained dancer and has performed in many big shows like Channel V’s VFest, and IPL opening ceremony, and various other platforms. Amidst the lockdown, the entertaining emcee says that he misses being on the stage and traveling as well. There’s no doubt that Ankit Shaw has mastered himself as a man with varied talents and skills. he has truly excelled as a versatile personality. Ankit Shaw is proof that age doesn’t matter when the passion and dedication are there.
