There Are Always Ways to Disrupt: How to Get Ahead in Business with AI

It seems like opportunities to disrupt are getting harder and harder to come by. Indeed, after digital technology’s exponential evolution in the last two decades, it’s hard to see where you can slot into the market and shake things up. Of course, while it’s easy to think like this, the reality is different. There are always ways to disrupt.
The best example of this is crypto. Although the concept of non-fiat currencies wasn’t necessarily novel, Satoshi Nakamoto’s 2008 whitepaper changed the financial game. Today, Bitcoin and other digital currencies are vying to become the default decentralized monetary unit for consumers around the world.
Crypto Proves there Are Still Ways to Disrupt
The advent of Bitcoin and the like disrupted the financial sector and, more recently, the world of business. Although the technology is still in a fledgling state, companies spanning a wide variety of industries are moving to integrate crypto payments. Gambling has long been an industry on the cutting edge of technology so, naturally, forward-thinking entrepreneurs have embraced crypto.
At this stage, crypto gambling platforms fall into two categories: crypto-only and hybrid. The former are online casinos, sportsbooks, and poker rooms that only process payments in popular crypto tokens such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin. The latter are traditional online gambling sites that accept fiat currencies, such as CAD and USD, as well as Bitcoin.
The way integration works is that traditional platforms typically add new innovations slowly over time. That’s the main way crypto is filtering into the online gambling sector. However, there are also companies that dive headfirst into the mix. These crypto gambling sites not only accept Bitcoin, amongst others, but often use blockchain technology to offer provably fair games (instead of traditional random number generators).
There’s Always a Way
This is just one example of how businesses are integrating crypto technology. You can also find online stores, airlines, and all manner of companies embracing innovation. Our point isn’t necessarily that companies are using crypto or that you’ve missed the boat.
The point here is that opportunities to disrupt are still out there. Crypto is far from a mature market. There are opportunities to make moves there, if you want. However, if you want to get on the next bandwagon just before it leaves the station, you might want to look at artificial intelligence (AI).
Like cryptocurrency, AI products such as ChatGPT are starting to show they have real-world utility. Nakamoto’s whitepaper wasn’t a blueprint for entrepreneurs. It gave us the foundations for exchanging units of value via decentralized networks, but it didn’t instruct people how to create crypto payment systems for gambling sites, online stores, and other online outlets. We can say the same for AI.
AI Opens Up New Ways to Shake Things Up
The first real work on AI started in the 1950s with people like Alan Turning who wanted to create computers that solved problems. Fast-forward 70 years and computer scientists and mathematicians have made this idea a reality. Now, software such as ChatGPT has taken these theoretical threads and fused them with modern innovations to create something that people can use.
This means we can see the launch of ChatGPT in 2022 as the start of a new era, in much the same way Bitcoin’s birth gave rise to new ways of paying for goods and services. You should be excited by this if you’re an entrepreneur who wants to disrupt. We know ChatGPT can pass medical exams and write stories. Therefore, you could create a content-based business using ChatGPT as the foundation. Then there are opportunities to run chatbots and customer service platforms using AI.
If that doesn’t pique your interest, how about using AI chatbots like ChatGPT to write scripts for online games or marketing campaigns. The potential applications of ChatGPT are endless which, in turn, means the opportunities to create a disruptive business are endless. So, even though it seems like there aren’t any opportunities to shake things up, the reality is that you can get ahead of the game if you look in the right places.
