Through the Eyes of the Creator – Marketing for Fashion in the 21st Century

As you know by now, we are deeply passionate about marketing in all its forms and byways. We like nothing better than to hear from entrepreneurs of all styles and business sectors, and learn more about what they are doing to market their business or brand to this rapidly changing world of ours.

And so it was with great pleasure that we sat down to chat a bit with one of the most creative, passionate people we’ve met in our history doing this, Thomas Arden Burnell, professionally going by Arden. Out of Lock Haven, PA, Arden is well on the way to reaching critical success both for himself as a musician, but also for his clothing brand, Mod570. At only 24 years old, Arden is bustling with energy and determination, and has high hopes for Mod570 and for his career as a rapper, hip-hop and R&B artist.

Fashion for The Creatives

His fashion brand, which brings a fascinating focus on creators, hustlers and entrepreneurs worldwide, is all about comfortable, yet chic clothing that will help you stand out, but also be a great outfit to just kick back in and focus on your work.

As with any other business, a fashion brand involves a heavy bit of social media expertise, and marketing magic. From a first glance, Mod570 (and implicitly, Arden himself) is good at creating an appealing image. You can see that just by looking at the clothes, their simple, yet elegant and bold design saying everything that needs to be said. They have a way of capturing attention without being bombastic or in your face. So naturally, we wanted to know what’s Arden’s approach to most entrepreneurs’ greatest bane (and greatest ally, if used correctly) – marketing.

“You have to have the product, but you really need to be able to show off that product. Marketing is there for that. Strategize your plans for your business and show the market all about your brand. What makes you appeal to others? This is where marketing comes in. Be different. Like Marpoe said in the 570 Blog “You got to at least flip the formula or you’ll just be a copy and nobody will really take you serious.”.”

Uplifting Community as an Entrepreneur

As any entrepreneur worth his salt knows, marketing and building your brand is also heavily about contributing to the community, particularly the local, immediate one. For Arden, that is his beloved home of Lock Haven, though he does eventually plan to expand beyond that.

“Here at Mod570 our team will be holding pop-up events for networking opportunities, raising funds for charity at these events and reinvesting long term into Lock Haven and beyond. We want to impact the community in a variety of ways.”

For a man at the beginning of his journey, Arden speaks with a wisdom far beyond his years, and we’re confident that this ability to visualize and see things in the long-term will help turn Mod570 into one of the world’s favorite clothing brands.

“It [social media] can make or break you these days, which is why I invested into my branding early on. It’s more important than ever to have a strong online appearance. Social media gives you that platform for your brand.”
