Tristan Ahumada Speaks on How a Facebook Group Turned Into a Multimillion-Dollar Company 

Facebook has over 1.6 billion users daily. This social media platform remains the most coveted site for social media marketing. Every day hundreds of companies set up their profile on Facebook to attract and engage with their customers. Yet success on Facebook is not easy due to the stiff competition that businesses face on this platform. 

We spoke to Tristan Ahumada to get some ideas on how to overcome the stiff competition and outcompete on Facebook. Tristan operates Lab Coat Agents as its CEO. He consults for Fortune 500 companies and runs a successful Real Estate team in Los Angeles, California. 

 

How Tristan Turned a Facebook Group Into a Multimillion-Dollar Company 

Tristan started as an entrepreneur by leveraging Facebook. He created a Facebook group consisting of people that he was speaking to across the nation. This strategy immediately boosted his credibility as his first members got other clients to join. Within months Tristan and his team managed to scale his business from zero to six figures. 

Tristan points out that one of the mistakes companies make is that they focus on content instead of engagement. They approach Facebook by creating a Facebook page and fill it with curated content for an audience they know little about. This strategy leads to low conversion and frustration in marketing. 

But companies have a lot to gain from building online communities through Facebook groups. Within the group, they can obtain data from potential customers and have real-time access to conversations that their clients are engaging in. In a few years of building an online community, Tristan and his team managed to build the company from scratch to a multi-million business venture. 

“I created Lab Coat Agents as a Facebook Group and in 5 years we have grown to over 100,000 highly engaged members,” says Tristan. Lab Coat Agents is one of the leading real estate education and media companies in the world and it currently has the largest Real Estate Facebook Group in the world. Besides building a Facebook group that grew into a multimillion-dollar company Tristan’s other company, Tristan and Associates, was created in 2004 and by 2015 they had surpassed 100 million in yearly volume, in Los Angeles/Ventura Counties. The county placed Tristan and Associates in the top 1% of all Real Estate agents in the US.

 

Three Ideas To Use

Idea #1: Build authentic relationships through your Facebook Community.  Tristan advises companies not to get into Facebook to make sales. Yes, sales are important, but a more sustainable option is to use Facebook to build a community. Companies need to bear in mind that today’s customers want a company that seeks to establish a connection with them. You can do this by being authentic in your conversations with your target audience. 

Idea #2: Get to know your audience. Tristan states that this activity remains the most important step to successful social media marketing. There are many ways that you can get to know your audience, for example, conducting surveys, or creating a customer persona. Building a Facebook group also offers you a great way to know your customers personally as you read their conversations and engage with them. Knowing your audience will help you offer products and services that meet their needs. Getting to know your audience means taking time to comment and engage with members of the community. Moreover, it helps you build your brand credibility. 

Idea #3: Consistency: Consistency is the key to success in Facebook marketing. This consistency goes hand in hand with quality as you focus on creating content that’s relevant and engaging. Tristan states that you should avoid sporadic content as it communicates that you are not invested in your audience. Instead, you should monitor the best times to post on Facebook and commit to posting in those times. 

If you put these ideas into use and incorporate Facebook ads, then you are likely to experience massive success. Tristan also advises you not to hesitate in incurring costs to boost posts. You have to remember that Facebook is a competitive place, and it’s up to you to make sure that your name gets out there.
