TRON Grand Hackathon 2022 generates buzz as it announces Reddit-like community forum

In part of TRON DAO’s long-term plan to promote the mass adoption of blockchain technology and cross-chain solutions, TRON DAO and BitTorrent Chain (BTTC) announced the launch of the TRON Grand Hackathon 2022, along with its new TRONDAO Forum. 

The Hackathon registration starts on February 14 and ends on March 7, for all new entrepreneurs, engineers, and designers, to have the possibility to boost the progress of Web 3.0 and the blockchain industry. 

The hackathon highlights developers testing and influencing the TRON blockchain to produce a teeming of tasks ranging from DeFi (Decentralized Finance), blockchain gaming, Web3, Digital Art/Collectibles, etc.

The Reddit-like TRONDAO Forum’s purpose is to give the decentralized community a voice. To interact together and to affect the growth of the TRON DAO, assembling the basis of a corresponding cross-chain future for the whole blockchain economy.

“The future is not far from where decentralized storage, decentralized applications, digital assets, and cryptocurrency wallets are widespread. With the increasing use of decentralized, peer-to-peer, and secure networks, blockchain is becoming the backbone of Web 3.0 – the decentralized web,” said H.E. Justin Sun, Founder of TRON. 

The TRON Grand Hackathon 2022 and the TRONDAO Forum urges developers to partake in these opportunities to design and implement DeFi, GameFi, NFT, and Web3 applications.

This past December, TRON transitioned to a fully decentralized project by becoming a community-governed DAO.

The decentralized web is all about putting the power in the hands of the people. The TRON Grand Hackathon 2022 and the TRONDAO Forum are all about interactions, discussions, and entrusting the TRON DAO community has space for everyone.

  • Follow the instructions sent from support.hackathon@trondao.org

Timeframe

This hackathon will be an ongoing funding event, commencing every three months, to promote the growth of the TRON and BTTC ecosystem. The first hackathon will begin on February 14, 2022.

Judging Period: Mar 8 — Mar 11, 2022
Winners Announcement Date: Mar 12, 2022
Hackathon Event Period: Mar 13, 2022 — May 13, 2022

Second Hackathon

Submission Date: May 14, 2022 — Jun 7, 2022
Judging Period: Jun 8 — Jun 11, 2022
Winners Announcement Date: Jun 12, 2022
Hackathon Event Period: Jun 13, 2022 — Aug 13, 2022

Third Hackathon

Submission Date: Aug 14, 2022 — Sep 7, 2022
Judging Period: Sep 8 — Sep 11, 2022
Winners Announcement Date: Sep 12, 2022
Hackathon Event Period: Sep 13, 2022 — Nov 13, 2022

Event requirements

  • The winner’s prize will be paid out in milestones.
  • 30% upon starting the project
  • 30% upon achieving at least 50% of the milestone
  • 40% upon completion of the project
  • Winners of the Hackathon should continue to post progress and answer the community’s questions in their own forum thread to keep the community informed.
  • The judges will have the final say on whether the expectation of each milestone has been made.
