A select group of students embarked on a week-long exploration (March 11th-16th, 2024) designed to bridge the gap between theory and practice in the unique legal and business environment of the United Arab Emirates.

The itinerary offered unparalleled access to a diverse range of companies, fostering insightful interactions with industry titans. The trek commenced at the prestigious Gibson Dunn offices, where students engaged in stimulating discussions with partners like Marwan Elaraby. The following day saw the group delve into the intricacies of the oil and gas sector with a visit to Dynamic Drilling. Executives, including Mr. Naresh Kumar and Manal Kumar Agarwal, shared valuable insights into their recent acquisition of offshore rigs and the company’s strategic focus on Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Mexico. This exclusive encounter provided aspiring legal and business professionals with invaluable career advice gleaned from the experiences of industry veterans.

Subsequently, students had the privilege of interacting with partners and associates from both the corporate and litigation practices of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer’s Dubai office. The program culminated with a visit to Siemens Energy, where students explored the intricate workings of the company’s legal and compliance departments. The Dubai International Trek concluded with a visit to the breathtaking Burj Khalifa, a fitting finale to an enriching and unforgettable experience.
