When It Comes To Independent Filmmakers, iGEMSpro is Here To Help Them On Their Distribution Journey With A Suite Of Resources

on

Every year there are on average over 15,000 independent films made, with most of these films seeing distribution opportunities. Many do the rounds and play at various film festivals, however, roughly only 5% of them are acquired for release. Sometimes, they are presented in theaters. Oftentimes, these projects are presented online but struggle to find an audience. It begs the question, what about all the other movies?

As streaming audiences increase, along with the number of platforms (now there are over 2,000 plus globally), there is a greater need than ever to fill these pipelines. That’s where iGEMSpro comes in. IGEMSpro is a part of the iGEMS family, which presents the most comprehensive content recommendation engine on the market.

iGEMSpro provides independent filmmakers, film festivals and industry professionals with a suite of resources to help them on their distribution journey. The site offers educational resources, courses, industry reports and aggregated news, video and podcast content.

Take for example iGEMSpro’s Film Festival Mastery course. This course has become an industry leader, helping filmmakers to navigate the film festival circuit. The course is instructed by industry veterans, Slamdance Film Festival co-founder Jon Fitzgerald and film financing expert Justin Giddings.

In addition to 5 video modules and a full suite of templates, festival lists and other resources, the Film Festival Mastery course comes with personalized viewing of your film, custom submission strategies and bi-monthly live coaching calls. The course explores topics such as Developing Your Own Custom Festival Strategy, Getting The Most Out Of Your Festival Budget, Building Your Audience & Brand On Social Media and Maximizing Your Festival Participation. Over 200 filmmakers have taken the course, which continues to generate rave reviews.

iGEMSpro also offers independent filmmakers and industry professionals access to The Mine. The Mine provides a weekly blog report, taking a deeper dive into the independent film sector. Reports such as No Sundance, No Problem: You May Just Have To Chart A New Course and Connecting Films With Buyers, give iGEMSpro users data, extended tips and tools to navigate their way along their distribution path.

Independent filmmakers will also be given and Affiliate access to Walla, FilmFreeway, Filmocracy, Assemble, The Kickstarter Guy, as well as a suite of podcasts, including the iGEMStv Guide and the Filmocracy Podcast, presented by Film Festival Mastery.

In addition to Affiliate access Reports and Online Courses, iGEMSpro will be anchored by a Directory of films seeking distribution.  The Directory will provide filmmakers with sales opportunities, and serve as a platform of discovery for acquisitions executives, as well as access to festival programmers.  Highlights from the Directory will be tracked and eventually find their way to the film fans on the iGEMStv side.

The iGEMSpro film Directory has a partnership with the leading digital film marketplace, Vuulr. Over 7,000 industry professionals, festival programmers and film buyers use this platform to acquire movies.

Having an iGEMSpro Directory powered by Vuulr gives participating filmmakers the best opportunity to generate sales for their projects. Best of all, it’s FREE to include your film!

As an iGEMS registered filmmaker, you simply add your film and contact info, along with your trailer, into the Directory. You can register here.
