5 Steps to Convert Prospects into Customers

Published

on

We all know the importance of a sales funnel. It’s what makes your business stand out and it can be used to convert prospects into customers. Sales funnel is something that every company should have, but not everyone knows how to create one for their own business. That’s why we’re going to go over 5 steps you need as part of your sales funnel in order for it to work as effectively as possible and increase the number of leads you convert from prospecting to customers!

Step 1

Survey your Market

All good business starts with good market research. In order to create a sales funnel that’s going to convert as many lead as possible, you need to know your target audience and their needs. Take the time out of your day, sit down at a computer or grab pen and paper if it works better for you and start writing down any questions that pop into your head about who is buying from similar businesses like yours? What do they want? When are they most likely to buy these products/services? How much money are they willing to spend on this particular product/service right now? Any other questions you might have! This part is all about getting information so keep writing until there’s nothing left in those brains of! You can also pull up SurveyMonkey or you can use Google Forms to ask your friends and family members these questions.

Step 2

Create your Opt-in

Now that you’ve written down all the questions you have about your target audience, it’s time to create an opt-in. An opt-in is basically like a lead magnet. It’s something free of value (usually) that will get them interested enough to subscribe to your email list so they can stay up on everything new and exciting happening with your business. For some ideas for creating this, look around at other companies similar to yours or ones who are already promising what you’re promising but maybe aren’t quite as good yet, then try putting yourself into their shoes and reading through one of their emails. Some effective opt ins are free 4-week plans, worksheets or cheat sheets that need to be filled out before they can download the 4 week plan etc.

Step 3

Map Out your Autoresponder

After you’ve created your opt in, it’s time to map out what exactly is going into each email of the 4-week plan. Take some time during this step and really think about how you want to present yourself as a business or an expert in your field. Try not to come off as salesy but also try to be a little bit more pushy then you normally would. Think about how the 4 weeks will pan out and write down what each email should contain or even better, create your 4 week plan in a word document so all you have to do is copy and paste it into the autoresponder.

Step 4

Make an Offer

The 4th step is to make an offer! This could be a free 15 minute phone call, a consultation appointment or even something as simple as “30% off all packages this month!” Whatever it may be, give your prospect the opportunity to get in contact with you if they’re interested. It’s very easy for them to say no but what about that 30 percent discount? They might just take you up on that offer!

Step 5

Track Results

Now that you’ve finished your sales funnel, it’s time to track the results. How many new subscribers have joined your email list? Which emails are being opened and which ones aren’t being read at all? Every sales funnel is going to be different and will require certain tweaks depending on how well (or not) they convert leads into customers so make sure you’re tracking each step along the way.

Conclusion

Sales funnel can be a great asset to your business if you know how to use it properly. If done correctly, sales funnels will increase the number of leads you convert from prospects into customers and make sales easier than ever! May these sales funnel steps help you in your sales process.
