6 Tips for Young Entrepreneurs Who Want to Be Taken Seriously

Brendan Cox, Author of "Strictly Business: How to Crush it as a Young Entrepreneur"

Entrepreneurship is becoming one of the most sought after career choices by Gen Z. There are many perks of being an entrepreneur, but it also demands a great deal of effort to be successful. Many aspiring entrepreneurs fear that they won’t be taken seriously by customers and competitors due to their age. Here are some tips to be taken seriously in the business world.

1. Show Innovation And Creativity

Innovation is always respected in the market. Make sure to innovate and be creative within your product or services. If you have a unique product and are able to market it correctly, then nothing will stop you.

2. Show Commitment

Try to learn about the psychology of customers. Customers are attracted to products which they think will last for long. Show commitment to your business by setting long term goals. Showing dedication and commitment to your business, will help your product be taken more seriously.

3. Present Yourself Like You Belong In The Industry

Presenting yourself in a professional manner will help you set your feet in the market. Take command and make connections within your industry. Your leadership qualities need to impress people if you want to get ahead in the game.

4. Network/Relations

It is important how and when you present yourself. Having a positive image in the industry and market will help you achieve success. Show up at every important conference, meetings, public gatherings, etc. Make yourself a prominent business owner in your specific industry.

5. Find A Mentor

Finding a mentor is crucial to your credibility. Having someone to look up to with experience, connections and great advice is so important when it comes to being taken seriously.

6. Deliver On Your Promises

Always make commitments that you can honor. Trust is a crucial thing in the business world. Establish your image as a person who not only delivers on their promises but under promises and over delivers. One of the biggest factors behind people not taking you seriously is the lack of trust. So don’t give them a reason not to trust you. Are you an aspiring entrepreneur? Check out my new book: Strictly Business: How to Crush it as a Young Entrepreneur.
