7 Literal Hacks for Search Engine Optimization

Search engine optimization is one of the most important aspects of your website, and it can be difficult to figure out what you need to do in order to rank higher. There are hundreds if not thousands of different search engine optimization hacks that claim they will help you get on the first page, but only a few actually work. This blog post goes through 7 SEO hacks that have been proven to work by many different sources.

Hack #1

Help a Reporter Out

If you want to rank high on Google, you need backlinks from other websites. Helping a reporter out by sharing their article is an excellent way to get the link that will boost your rankings and drive more traffic.

HARO allows you to sign up for email alerts whenever journalists need sources on specific topics. This makes it easy for you to share your expertise and get backlinks from the publication without having to go searching yourself. You can also search by location or topic in order to make finding opportunities even easier.

Hack #2

Grab Easy Link Building Chances

There are many different types of backlinks you can build, but the easiest and most straightforward way to do this is by building resource pages. This involves creating a page on your website that provides users with information they need about a certain topic or industry.

When visitors come to your site looking for information, they will stumble across these links and click them in order to find more detailed articles and resources on whatever subject you’re writing about at the time. As long as it’s relevant and useful content, people will be happy to link back to it from their own websites so Google sees how much authority you have within your niche.

One way of doing this is by utilizing the Google Search Console to find relevant industry blogs that don’t have a link on their websites yet.

Hack #3

Set Up a YouTube Channel

YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world, which means that uploading videos on your channel can be a great way to get more traffic.

The easiest way to do this it by using YouTube Cards and End Screens. These tools allow you create cards for people who are watching related videos or relevant content so they know about your page too. Another good idea is to add annotations at the end of each video directing users back towards specific pages on your site where they can find out more information.

Hack #4

Add Forms to AMP

Add Addresses to your AMP pages as well as contact forms.

This makes it easy for users who want more information or wish to make a purchase on your site directly from their phone and is an excellent way of increasing conversions and sales without having to spend any money. There are many different apps you can use that allow you collect emails, such as ConvertKit, SumoMe (which also has popup options).

Hack #5

Optimize Your Images

Optimizing your images is a great way to get more traffic, but it can be difficult if you don’t know how. The simplest method of doing this is by using Optimizely Image Optimizer to compress and resize the different files on your website quickly and easily as well as test which one gets better results from Google Images. Optimizeley also allows you to test which images work best for your ads and newsletters, as well as track the number of clicks they get.

Hack #6

Watch Out for Traffic Drops

Watch out for traffic drops to your website. This can be done by using Google Analytics or other monitoring systems to keep track of the number of clicks and visitors coming from different sources, both internal and external. Traffic spikes are great because they show you what’s working at that time, but it’s important not to neglect when things aren’t going well either in order to optimize future campaigns based on this information.

Hack #7

Don’t Forget About Your Footer

Don’t forget to add links to your social media profiles in the footer of each page on your site. This makes it easy for people who want more information about you or are interested in hearing updates from you without having to search through all of your content, which is especially useful when making sales pages.
