A coversation with Russell Peguero the Dominican American founder and designer of LLESSUR NYC

Get into the mind of LLESSUR as he prepares to show at NYFW for the first time, presenting Volume II – ‘Elemental’.

What was it like preparing for your first New York fashion week show? and How did you feel about the show outcome?
Like most designers, I was extremely nervous about presenting my collection for the first time. I think that overall the show with SFWRUNWAY was a great experience. I wasn’t planning to have a show this year due to COVID restrictions. I am extremely grateful that the team at SFWRUNWAY was able to pull something fashionable and memorable in the end.

Were there any challenges? Yes, there were a few every event out there, nothing always goes according to plan. I would say the biggest challenge was coming up with three looks two days before the show. lol Not a fun experience when you see what goes down but I find some of my best work comes out during these times of high stress.

What was your favorite moment? I think that my favorite moment of the show was looking at the models lined up right before walking out onto the runway for the final. It was one of those moments where as a creative you take a moment to breathe in what you have put out into the world for others to witness. It was the feeling of accomplishment for me!

What’s on the table for LLESSUR for the coming year? For this coming year we are working hard to get the collection in the right store and conduct more pop-up shops so our consumers can interact more with the product and hopefully our creatives. We are also launching a few capsule collections throughout the year that will compliment the main collections lifestyle. These include a home, living and sports collection.

The LLESSUR’s brand identity is focused on providing effortless glamour. Consistent with our prior collection, Volume I ‘The Scene’ which is currently available on our website www.llessurnyc.com. People expect from this latest collection shown at SFWRUNWAY to offer glimses of nightlife bling. Inspired by the busy nightlife of New York City, ‘The Scene’ contains garments that pay tribute to some of New York City’s best known hotels for their night events.
