An Exclusive Interview with the creator of 5th Industrial Revolution Pratik Gauri

Pratik Gauri chatted with Disrupt Magazine about his background, creating 5th Industrial Revolution, founding 8 impact startups, and impact investing.
Disrupt Magazine: Pratik tell our audience about your background?
Pratik: “I see myself as a curator of a better future of the world by helping create the 5th Industrial Revolution. 5IR is about working at the intersection of profits and purpose by using frontier technology created in 4IR for the betterment of humanity. As a social entrepreneur, impact investor, public speaker, and dynamic advocate for change, I am passionate about positively transforming the lives of a billion people worldwide over the next decade by being a catalyst for technological innovation and entrepreneurship. From helping create the 5th Industrial Revolution by founding 8 companies in the 5IR space, to investing in technology impact startups, to public speaking to mobilise youth towards impact, to moving fortune 500 company models from for-profit to for-benefit, to mobilising capital to help achieve 17 UN Global Goals, I have an unwavering commitment towards having a positive impact on humanity.”
Disrupt Magazine: You were trained by former US Vice President Al Gore, have represented your country at prestigious forums like WEF Davos, and have won innumerable awards at such a young age. What is your biggest achievement?
Pratik: “Getting trained by Al Gore and team in Los Angeles and representing India at various forums like World Economic Forum Davos, Skoll World Forum Oxford, Nobel Peace Prize Forum Oslo gave me access to a lot of opportunities and life-changing moments where I met many of my inspirations like Paul Polman, Biz Stone, Queen of Congo, Muhammad Yunus, amongst others who guided me to amplify my works. But my biggest achievement is when I got back and started my second company after failing in my first startup when I was 16 years old. Failures have taught me much more than successes. I always have felt that startups might fail, but entrepreneurs never fail.”
Disrupt Magazine: What is your definition of success and happiness?
Pratik: “Helping people flourish gives me immense joy. Success for me is seeing a world with equal opportunities for every human, zero poverty, gender equality, and climate justice.”
Disrupt Magazine: What are your plans for the future?
Pratik: “I want to create an ecosystem by building impact unicorn companies which positively impact more than a billion people. All my companies are in the 5IR space, which is using technology to solve social problems like hunger, lack of education, poverty, gender inequality, climate crisis, etc. I also actively invest in impact companies which I think will transition us from 4IR to 5IR and will write a better future for our world.”
