An Interview With Alive Enterprise’s Newly Signed Producer; Troyton Music

Troy Hinds, also known as Troyton music, is a multi-talented producer and one of Jamaica’s most creative individuals. Ever since he was a kid, Troyton has always had an interest in music. It’s no surprise today that he has become a well-known name in the industry. Recently, Troy signed to Alive Enterprise; a music label run by Serial entrepreneur Astyle Alive and his executives Boogz & Killz Muzic.

A few weeks ago, I had the chance to interview Troyton, and we discussed various aspects of his life. Here is the interview:

Can you tell us about yourself?

I was born Troy Hinds, and I’m known professionally as Troyton Music. I could call myself a hard worker and a determined individual who is very clear on what he wants to achieve in the music industry.

Asides from that, I ensure that I keep a certain caliber of music in this industry as I’m ravenous to make hit songs. People I’ve worked with say I give off a solemn vibe, and to be honest, that’s the only way I can reach the targets I have set for myself.

What birthed your love for music? Has it always been your passion?

Yes, music has been a thing of mine for a while now. Venturing into music came naturally as there was a certain amount of influence around me when I was little. I grew up around a lot of sound systems and musicians. My mother and brothers were some of these musicians.

These people inspired me to start my musical journey. I began by selling sound systems, and eventually, I chose and stuck with music producing.

Did you experience any challenge on your way to the top? If yes, how did you overcome them?

There is always a challenge in the music industry. There have been a lot of times for me where the obstacle is the artists themselves. Believe it or not, recording artists can take months, even years, to make significant progress. There was a time I waited close to two years on a particular artist because of my attention to detail.

Another challenge I faced was the lack of support. Sometimes, you do your best work and put it out for others to listen, and it still doesn’t get the support you wanted, especially when you know it’s a good one. However, those were my early years. Nowadays, I have more work put out, and I’m recognized heavily in the music industry.

I heard you have achieved a lot of feats! Can you tell us some of them?

Well, so far, I’ve has a couple of billboard chart productions. I’ve also made history for being the only Spanish/English-speaking producer to achieve a premier on Billboard with a track called ” Take it” with Movado and Karian Sang.

I also produced for DJ Khaled – His grateful album called ” Unchanging love.” In turn, I received a platinum plaque. One of my most significant achievements so far is getting on the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot 200 for the song ” true emotions” by Neyo and Movado. Asides from this, I have produced for some of the biggest names in dancehall and some international artists like Maluma, Stefflondon, and Holiday. These are some of my achievements.

What advice do you have for anyone striving to achieve success in the music industry?

My advice is to stay focus and be passionate about what you want. First thing first, you have to love what you do in this industry. If you set out with the mindset of ” I’m only here to make money,” then I’m sorry, you’re not going to get very far. How can I put this… There is an adage that says, ” Prepare to fail but don’t fail to prepare”. This adage depicts the music industry well.

If you dont prepare for the journey that lies ahead, you might miss the opportunities that come your way. How do you prepare? Well, the only reasonable answer to that is to put in the work!

Lastly, Stay humble. Do not let your ego have its way. That’s all.

How do you plan to make an impact in your new label, Alive Enterprise?

Well, right now, I plan on linking up with other entities. I also plan to work hard, garner ideas, and achieve my dreams. Alive Enterprise and I have a common goal, and we are ready to accomplish that goal.  I am a spiritual person, and the feeling I get from Alive Enterprise is pure, so I’m sure we will make awesome music working together.
