A&R/Producer Flex and His transition from Music to Deep Tech

It’s not every day where anybody hears about someone who transitions from the music industry as a producer and A&R to becoming the director of strategy for a deep technology company. These sorts of instances are close to impossible to bring into fruition knowing how far of a difference art is from sciences, but as for Flex, he saw otherwise for he created the ability to use his past music industry experience into Jikoro Sciences, a deep tech company that he was able to be a part of. Making what was thought to be impossible into more than possible.

In the beginning of Flex’s music career, he first wanted to be an artist, as many others wished too. However, Flex saw this as an opportunity to branch out to other options, by diversifying into producing beats in high school after being introduced to FL Studio by a kid at lunch. Within his first year producing, he was informed by artist YG’s manager Brandon Moore, that he would be landing a placement on a song co-produced by DJ Mustard on YG’s album “My Krazy Life” and was invited to meet them on tour. Unfortunately, the song did not make the album’s final edit, but it inspired him to continue working hard because he saw success was attainable.

Moving to Los Angeles after high school, he joined a production team with popular LA producer ArJayOnTheBeat creatively directing production for tracks produced for French Montana, DJ Mustard, Shoreline Mafia, 03 Greedo, Drakeo The Ruler, Kalan.Frfr and others.

Producing beats gave Flex the opportunity to collaborate with many artists and meet many executives. After graduating high school, while studying Business Management in college he reached out to Alumni Music Group’s Adrian Swish to join his management team where he supported day to day tasks and negotiated the signing of Grammy award-winning artist Vory and others.

Flex’s next moves is that currently, Adrian Swish and himself are working on a few ventures from NFT’s, Sports Branding to Marketing, and giving back to the community through non-profit events. Additionally, Flex mentions that his main goal he hopes to achieve while being in the position he is currently is in is to, “…Support innovation, Grow, Learn, drive positive impact, empower and inspire people, all while watching a young company bring the change this world needs.” Lastly, a piece of advice Flex can give to someone that is wanting to invest is that cryptocurrency is exciting but remember to do your own research (DYOR) and avoid get rich quick schemes, stating that investing takes time for your money to grow, and there are plenty of free educational materials out there. He mentions that you can speak with the industry experts, attend webinars, and join free community classes, but most importantly, do not share your private information with anyone; “Knowledge is key!”
