jobs of the future

As the needs of the people change, the occupations change with it. Likewise, for those choosing a career field or looking for a change in occupation, these are the jobs to look into in the years to come.

Nurse Practitioner

Even though we are in the recovery stage of a global pandemic, it has brought to our attention of being more conscious of our health. Because of this, there is an increasing demand for choosing the nursing field. It’s projected that the nurse practitioner field will increase by 46% through 2031 and a median annual salary of $120,680.

Wind Turbine Technician

With the efforts to create clean and renewable energy sources, jobs like wind turbine technicians are in high demand. The projected growth for this occupation is an increase of 44% with a median annual salary of $56,260.

Entertainment Fields

As we are transitioning away from social distancing, entertainment in all forms is coming back in full force, thus we are seeing an increase in jobs in this industry. For live events like concerts and festivals, there is a projected growth of 41% for ushers, lobby attendants, and ticket takers. Moreover, the median annual salary is looking to be about $24,440. For movie theaters, motion picture projectionists are seeing a 40% growth through the next decade with a median annual salary of $29,350.

Sports and Athletics

Just like with entertainment, there is a resurging of occupations in the field of sports and athletics. For umpires, referees, and other sports officials; these will be projecting a 31% growth through 2031 and a median salary of $35,860.

Restaurants Cooks

For restaurant cooks, we are looking at a projected growth of 37% with a median annual salary of $30,010. This growth can be attributed to 2 factors: the first is that people are going out more than ever after the pandemic, and the second is that people are moving from their cook jobs to other fields leaving more openings for new hires.

Information Technology

The future of technology is growing bigger and bigger every year meaning a high demand for jobs in IT. Data scientists are projecting a 36% growth with a median annual salary of $100,910. For information security analysts, there is a 35% growth with a median salary of $102,600. Lastly, we have statisticians’ job growth of 33% with a median annual salary of $95,570.
