Community Leader and Entrepreneur, Marc Devisse’s Story

Marc Devisse

Marc Devisse started and runs multiple businesses and has risen to be a leader in his community. He is an avid philanthropist and wishes to inspire others to do the same.

In 2006, at the young age of 22, Marc started his first business—Tri-Town Construction. He was eventually able to greatly grow the business, but, as any entrepreneur knows, his success was preceded by many struggles.

The recession hit in late 2007, but Marc was able to make it out with his business intact. Unfortunately, a couple of years later, the government hit him with a $50k fine for not filling out the proper paperwork with the state.

Yet, though it was hard, his business survived. He explains to young entrepreneurs: “You will have failures. Get over them quickly. Move on to the next thing.” That is exactly what he did, and, after paying the fine, he quickly moved to ramp up his business.

Now, Tri-Town Construction is a very successful and influential company in Florida. In 2019, Marc decided to try his hand in the restaurant industry. He invested around a million dollars in his restaurant named: Seaside Bar & Grill.

The grand opening was set for March 17th, 2020. Sadly, that was the day that Covid shut everything down. Yet, Marc did not give up and, now, Seaside Bar & Grill is open for business.

Believe it or not, he then went on to start a catering business called: Bonita Catering & Events. He always liked working with food and creating new dishes. He explains: “I’ve always been passionate about cooking, and catering gives me the opportunity to put my creativity to use.”

While catering is a lot of work, he finds it to be very rewarding and especially enjoys knowing that his catering is bringing others joy.

Marc is also a philanthropist at heart and uses a portion of the profits he earns from another business he owns—Florida Roofing and Gutters—and donates it to various organizations.

He is also an ambassador for organizations such as Real Men Wear Pink and Best Buddies. He hopes to raise tens of thousands of dollars for each organization over the coming years.

One of the key pieces of advice that he offers to others is to: “Stay humble and never stop learning. Every situation in life is a learning opportunity, whether it’s something you think is great and want to adopt into your company or something that you don’t like and think needs to be done better.”

All in all, Marc Devisse’s successful entrepreneurial journey and investment in his community is an example to all of what determination and a right mindset can produce.
