Dave Carroll of DOPE Marketing: Helping Businesses Leverage The Advantages Of Direct Mail

Published

on

Direct mail is a form of advertising that is highly individualized to the customer, cost-effective, builds trust, and its strategies are easily measurable. Brand retention is also a key advantage, as direct mail serves as one of few channels  involving tangible materials, where consumers can engage all of their senses.

In addition, businesses can utilize direct marketing to target specific client demographics using communications highly customized to the client’s needs.

DOPE Marketing is notoriously known for their dedication to helping agencies automate laser-focused direct mail for their clients. The 30-employee-strong company based in Minneapolis is a key player at the forefront of the direct mail industry.

Founder and CEO Dave Carroll states that the days of “spraying and praying” with direct mail are long gone. According to Carroll, “Laser-focused, trigger-based direct mail is the way of the future.”

Carroll is a leading figure in the direct mail industry, having worked with well-known corporations including Nike, TiVo, the Golden State Warriors, Ashley Furniture, and Nike. He states that working alongside such high-level, reputable businesses drastically opened his eyes to the possibilities and opportunities of scaling large companies.

Direct mail advertising is known to have a return on investment of 29%, compared to digital ads (16%) and paid search (28%). Furthermore, only 44% of people can recall a brand immediately after seeing a digital ad compared to 75% of people who receive direct mail.

Through their open API, Zapier integration, and direct connection with CRMs like GoHigh Level, DOPE Marketing’s bolt-on direct mail solution simplifies the processes by sending automated direct mail. Customers may purchase any print or marketing item with quick turnaround and inexpensive minimums thanks to the software, which enables you to send direct mail that will arrive anywhere in the nation in 3–5 days.

Additionally, DOPE Marketing offers a “neighborhood Blitz” tool that enables you to design a shape on a map and deliver laser-focused postcards to any neighborhood in the United States with no minimum order. Home services, agencies, e-commerce, and small local enterprises can all benefit from this service. Carroll bought out 2 print shops over the past 2.5 years and now does all of the print production for direct mail automation software internally.

Despite many millennials being glued to their phones, it is said that postal mail motivates them to take action more than email, even though it would be easier for them to visit a website after viewing an email.

One of the most effective kinds of advertising in the world is direct mail, as it is sent via a less cluttered channel than digital marketing. Also, a direct mail campaign often costs a small fraction of what it generates in return. Carroll emphasizes the value direct mail can have for a business’s bottom line, stating, “If you have a CRM, a workflow, customers and a pulse, you need to be sending automated direct mail.”
