Deepali Das: The Social Activist from Odisha

Deepali Das is a young woman from the state of Odisha who has made exemplary contributions to the fields of social activism and health. She is an official representative of Sri Naba Kisore Das who is the Hon’ble Health and Welfare Minister of Odisha.

Deepali Das is regularly invited to attend health and social welfare events such as inauguration of departments in hospitals and various launches of applications and technologies dedicated to the welfare and health of the general public. Very recently, she attended the bhumipujan of the Vedanta pathology center through digital screening.

Through her position of responsibility, Deepali is involved in disseminating important information about health and safety. For example, during the Coronavirus pandemic, she has remained active on social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter to urge people to take preventive actions to curb the spread of the virus. She regularly lists out a series of implementable solutions and steps that one can follow in order to prevent the spread of the virus and stay safe. Deepali also focuses on the need to have good immunity to rely on. She talks about the right proportions of fruits and vegetables that every person should include in his/her diet, especially during a time of widespread disease. On her Twitter and Instagram handle (deepalidas95), you can find fact-checked and expert knowledge on various foods and necessary nutrients that help in maintaining a balanced diet and fit body and mind.

Apart from that, she regularly puts out Coronavirus-related data and figures for the knowledge of the public.

Not just this but Deepali also actively educates people on diseases and their adequate treatments. From acne to pneumonia, she puts out data in the form of pictures and graphs for a better understanding of everyone.  She advocates the importance of mental and emotional health as well.

Her way of ensuring that people are aware of their health and happiness has proved to be impactful because instead of using lengthy messages and posts, Deepali puts out information in layman language. For example, to reduce stress and anxiety, a simple graphical presentation with nine easy-to-follow steps gets the point across.

By initiating a dialogue about the many spectrums and scopes in the field of health, wellness, and welfare, Deepali Das has become an accomplished and change-making social and health activist in the country India.
