Desiree Busnelli Reflects on Her Passion for Interior Decoration, and How it was Ignited at the Early Age of 10

With the right amount of exposure, training, and mentoring, Interior Design Consultant Desiree Busnelli reached the pinnacle of glory with her superior artistry. From a talented grandmother to a gifted mentor, Desiree learned the tricks of her trade from experts and shaped her own vision and design thinking.

Early window to the world of interior decor

For some, choosing a career path is an arduous task replete with faulty self-assessments and vague evaluation of one’s strengths. But for Desiree Wallis, her career chose her. Being the oldest among her five sisters, Desiree was her grandmother’s favorite companion who was an interior designer herself. Being exposed to her grandma’s showrooms and luxuriously styled homes, Desiree’s deep-seated desire to be an artist was implanted at a young age of just ten. Her visits educated her mind on popular decoration styles and thematic inspirations. She learned how to mix elements from different design styles and find creative ways to use versatile materials to transform apartment homes, formal office spaces, or luxurious villas. Desiree developed first-hand knowledge of the art and science of home décor during her formative years.

Principles that shaped her vision

Her core value of creating a positive change to the space around her helps her in deriving inspiration from the world and creating tasteful spaces for her clients. Of course, the magic that she spins as an interior design consultant to see delightful clients gleam with glory did not happen overnight. Years of training, consistent learning, and perseverance took her to heights of perfection.

When recounting about the expertise in her skills, she speaks about getting the wonderful opportunity of working under the supervision of Emanuele Busnelli and his talented team at B&B Italia, the premier contemporary furnishings manufacturer which played an integral part of developing an aesthetic sense and helped her imbibe different shades of the design philosophy that she uses even today to reflect on her creations.

Her time in Milano, Italy, helped her focus on rewarding brands to express strong intrinsic, aesthetic, and functional values and deliver superlative experiences to those who enjoy time within these surroundings. Her relationship with B&B Italia eventually led to designing her home in California and, with time, armed her to become an entrepreneur with her own bespoke studio in Milano, Italy.

Every grey cloud has a silver lining

Although, Desiree has seen her life treating her with turbulent times, yet she never forgets her blessings and her resilient power to stand up again and face every obstruction with open hands. For her, testing times help humans evolve and become more beautiful and gifted beings; it does not just unravel new talents that were lying dormant but surprises you with love from unexpected corners. From surmounting barriers, to allowing each experience to change her for the better, Desiree sought opportunity amidst adversity. Desiree’s life is a testament to her underlying philosophy, and she stands true to it.
