Documentary: How Pop Earth is Disrupting Autism
Do you know someone affected by autism?
Chances are you do.
Nearly 1 in every 50 children born today have been diagnosed with some type of autism. More than 3.5 million Americans today are living with an autism spectrum disorder. 35 percent of young adults (ages 19-23) with autism have not had a job or received postgraduate education. Autistic children are not being taught the life skills they need to live independently, and are thrown unprepared into adulthood. In 2012, Deb Stone founded a charity called Pop.Earth, the first organization in the country to take a holistic approach to health and wellness for people with autism. In this short mini documentary we visit New York based Non-Profit and speak to the people who have dedicated their lives to helping children with special needs.
