Eduardo Lagares Explains 4 Simple Steps to Gain Resilience

Embracing challenges

For some of us, challenges can be truly difficult to overcome– if our mindset isn’t in the right head space. There are some things that we need to do in order to help ourselves find peace and continue to move forward during difficult situations. Finding our voice through our resilience.

Creating Opportunity

As we create our opportunities in our selected industries, there can be times where we must challenge our thoughts and use our voices to speak our truths. Really understanding what you are capable of accomplishing, will help you eliminate the fears that you may currently have for yourself.
As someone who loves and embraces challenges, I was absolutely taken away when I spoke with Eduardo Lagares.

Overcoming obstacles

Eduardo was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to the United States with his parents. They wanted to give him the best opportunity that life could offer. He grew up dealing with a ton of anxiety and had trouble learning and paying attention in class. Everything had to have some form of entertainment for him not to get sidetracked, which led him towards sports and acting.
Eduardo’s resilience began with his ability to realize that his learning styles were different and that he must accept who and where he was in his life. As he has developed a sense of self within the entertainment industry his hero’s journey has become more apparent. He is focused on overcoming anxiety and re-gaining confidence by helping others who are also struggling with their own internal battles. Eduardo lives by practicing four different methods:

Ignoring the Harsh Comments

You are the biggest critic of yourself. You have to learn to give yourself love from time to time, which can be difficult to do. One of the best things you can ultimately do is learn to acknowledge the negative thought and shift it into a positive affirmation. Make it a habit to be conscious of your words. We already get a lot of negativity from the outside world, so why give yourself more negativity when you are alone with your thoughts?

Focus on Moving Forward

You will always find a way out of the darkness. No matter what you decide to do in your life, you will find happiness if you do things from the heart. Remember to always have a driving force.

Inspire Others

Help others around you realize that they are worth it. Learn to be relatable and give back to your community. There’s a saying by Tony Robbins where you must learn to give to others when you have nothing. It’s the one thing that will allow you to connect and build deeper relationships with those that look up to you.

Stop and Breathe

It’s okay to stop every once in a while and just let go, cry if you have to. There is nothing wrong with taking time for yourself and realizing that you need you time. YOU matter, just as much as those around you.
It’s important to recognize that you are accomplishing your path at your own pace and not to compare yourself to others within your journey. No matter what, you keep going. Life will get hard, but you have to learn that no one will ever believe in you as much as you believe in yourself.
