George Pitts was down on his luck at the time that he discovered his goals of entrepreneurship. He had lost his job and was struggling to make ends meet with his wife. He knew he had to change something as soon as he could. This is when he discovered the world of personal finance and how to make money.

“In 2009, I had lost my job right before the holidays. At the time my wife and I were living paycheck to paycheck, so I had to find something fast. I did a lot of research about making money from home during the time I was applying for jobs by the minute. I eventually stumbled upon internet marketing building websites, doing so, and other search engine optimization for local businesses got into that and just kept going and it evolved into so many things since then as the online business space kept evolving I kept evolving right along with it.” George recounts.

George began his business with the attempt to help himself and his family. He knew that he needed to turn around his life. He was the only person that could help himself out of the hole that he was in.

“It was really me wanting to help the old me. I know if I had someone speaking my language at the time I would have done this a lot sooner. I wasn’t ahead of the curve but I got in between it. I’ve since adjusted and found myself keeping up with that instead of lagging behind. Now it’s me wanting to help people not see the back of the train when it’s leaving but help them choose a seat before it departs the station.” comments George.

Now, George runs his own personal finance business. He was able to turn his life around by turning around his mindset. He says that this is crucial for those who are trying to start their own business because of the fears coming from feeling like an imposter in your own world.

“A person who has never done business has to change their mindset. 85% of the people who want to start a business almost immediately fold when they find it costs money. Most people feel that starting a business is like a job. If they apply for an LLC and are granted it, then they should be good to go. The other 15% understand it will take money to make money and that’s why you see less people on the business side than you do the consumer/w2 side. Impostor syndrome people with this are always asking themselves who would want to listen to me? What can I offer that someone else already offers? How can I compete with all these people or what if I can’t deliver? What if they don’t like the service I provide. If a person can deal and overcome those three things at that point it’s not a matter of if it will work now it’s a matter of when it will take off and how to adjust.” advises George.

Though George’s career has taken off, he did struggle with his fair share of obstacles. The current pandemic has only exacerbated these obstacles by increasing the demand for George’s service in time when the company was just getting started. Instead of letting the difficult situations get the best of him, George has been able to overcome these obstacles and do more with his company.

“My biggest obstacle has been expanding my team and putting people in the right place. Business for me this year was the best it had been. My team was small and was quickly overwhelmed with the demand when covid-19 started. We had to make adjustments and bring in people who specialize in areas we were just knowledgeable in and that’s when things really took off but we had the right people in place to handle each spot. It’s been such a beautiful thing to deal with since then.” George states.

In the coming months, George hopes to continue on his path and help 10,000 people get their personal finances in order. To find out more about George, you can follow him on Instagram here. You can also check out his website here.
