Five Fitness Group is Removing the Shame From Working Out With Their Mirrorless Facilities and Functional Fitness Training

Five Fitness Group is Removing the Shame From Working Out With Their Mirrorless Facilities and Functional Fitness Training

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently reported that from about the year 2000 to 2020, America’s obesity rate increased from 30.5% to 41.9%. That’s a 30% jump resulting in nearly half of Americans qualifying as obese. Obesity may not always “look” bad, but the health consequences are alarming.

For example, during this time between 2002 and 2015, the rate of type 2 diabetes diagnosis increased by 4.8% per year for people under the age of 20. So if you think about the math behind that, the cohort of children with type 2 diabetes is increasing by 4.8% each year, close to 400 times the annual US population growth rate.

And in adults 20 and older, the type 2 diabetes incidence (diagnosis) rate has hovered around 10% for the last two decades. Resulting in 1 out of every 10 adults with diagnosed diabetes and one in three adults with prediabetes.

If that’s not enough to scare you out of your chair, obesity also leads to other health complications, including certain types of cancer, heart disease and stroke. The good news is that much of this is reversible; you can get fit and stop the onset of diseases caused by obesity. And even once you have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, it is possible to get to a place where you no longer need medication and can live a normal life.

How to Tackle Obesity

Obesity is a very personal issue, and its reasons vary from person to person. If your doctor has told you you are obese, consider why this might be. Did the doctor tell you it’s because of a medical condition? Maybe it’s challenging to find the time to eat well and exercise? Or perhaps you are using food to self-soothe? Whatever it may be, it’s essential to understand the why so you can devise a plan and take action.

The simplest way to tackle obesity is to develop a healthy lifestyle and get active.

What Exercises Are Best for Me?

You know you need to build some muscle and lose some fat — but most people dread hitting the treadmill (boring + painful) or lifting weights in front of a mirror with a bunch of fit gym rats (terrifying + painful). The same for yoga and pilates classes, so what can you do?

Build your core muscles by doing functional fitness training in a no-shame atmosphere like the one provided by F45 and Five Fitness Group. F45 focuses solely on your holistic health. They removed the mirrors from their facilities and told everyone to check their egos at the door.

As soon as you walk in the door, a trainer will check you in and demo each exercise. Then you head to your station with wearable tech, LionHeart, to track your heart rate and progress from station to station. The gym experience is 45 minutes of scintillating interval training, moving from station to station, in a team training atmosphere, guided by F45 trainers and F45TV.

LionHeart allows you to see how hard you are pushing yourself and how much further you can go. F45 is a truly unique experience that keeps you engaged and wanting more. A new lifestyle will take some getting used to, but you got this!

So if you want to get it off, keep it off and make day-to-day activities easier, come down to an F45 and sign up today!
