From Comedy Club to Real Estate Lead Generation Superstar, Matt Cramer Is Ready to Share His Secrets

We’ve all heard jokes that start “Two guys walk into a bar…”, but in Matt Cramer’s case, it’s one guy with a split personality – he’s a comedian and an expert in digital real estate lead generation.

Starting out, Matt followed the traditional path laid out for budding real estate agents. “The broker tells you, ‘If you just spend 3 hours a day every day calling expireds and for-sale-by-owners (FSBO’s) and weekends hosting open houses, you’ll be able to build your business,’” he says.

But all those hours spent cold calling and weekends devoted to open houses didn’t do it for him. “When I first started in real estate, it reminded me of my first time on the stage,” Matt explains. “There were so many things I had to juggle, so many new things to remember. I got overwhelmed, lost focus, and lost the audience. I was a flop.” 

Getting Focus 

He knew there had to be a better way. That’s when a real estate coach came to Grand Rapids, MI, his hometown, offering a course on prospecting. Matt signed up and became the star pupil.

The lead generation tactics he borrowed, then enhanced and refined, enabled him to close over $2,000,000 in the first year, then more than $3,000,000 his second.

Once Matt focused on achieving his goals  –  making people laugh on stage or getting prime real estate leads – his fortunes turned. He was named “Funniest Person in Grand Rapids in 2010,” and became the real estate success he strived to be.

Maxing out at his old agency, he moved to one of the top real estate firms in the country, where he was quickly promoted to Director of Lead Generation and built a champion team to implement his proven real estate lead generation business model.

“More entrepreneurs drown in opportunities than in water,” he quips. “It’s too easy to get overwhelmed by all the things you could or should do, rather than what you need to do. Focus is the key that opens the door to success.”

“Great sales people are great at improv,” Matt says.
