We’ve all heard jokes that start “Two guys walk into a bar…”, but in Matt Cramer’s case, it’s one guy with a split personality – he’s a comedian and an expert in digital real estate lead generation.
Together with his partner Shayne Hillier, another accomplished real estate pro and digital marketing expert, they have launched Real Estate Marketing and Conversion Academy (REMCA).
In the REMCA training program, they share the secrets of building a highly profitable online advertising agency targeting real estate professionals, a market they identify as “the largest lowest hanging fruit in the digital marketing industry that most marketers had no idea how to work.”
And what’s better, you don’t need to know anything about real estate to do it. Both partners have “walked the walk” to build phenomenal real estate careers and they can teach you to “talk the talk” in less than 90 days.
Like so many real estate professionals who come to real estate as a second or third career, Matt didn’t set out to become a real estate agent or digital marketing expert. His first professional career was as a stand-up comedian.
But after he got married, the irregular income comedy afforded didn’t cut it. So he turned to real estate to build financial security for his growing family.
Learning the Ropes in Real Estate
Starting out, Matt followed the traditional path laid out for budding real estate agents. “The broker tells you, ‘If you just spend 3 hours a day every day calling expireds and for-sale-by-owners (FSBO’s) and weekends hosting open houses, you’ll be able to build your business,’” he says.
But all those hours spent cold calling and weekends devoted to open houses didn’t do it for him. “When I first started in real estate, it reminded me of my first time on the stage,” Matt explains. “There were so many things I had to juggle, so many new things to remember. I got overwhelmed, lost focus, and lost the audience. I was a flop.”
He knew there had to be a better way. That’s when a real estate coach came to Grand Rapids, MI, his hometown, offering a course on prospecting. Matt signed up and became the star pupil.
The lead generation tactics he borrowed, then enhanced and refined, enabled him to close over $2,000,000 in the first year, then more than $3,000,000 his second.
Once Matt focused on achieving his goals – making people laugh on stage or getting prime real estate leads – his fortunes turned. He was named “Funniest Person in Grand Rapids in 2010,” and became the real estate success he strived to be.
Maxing out at his old agency, he moved to one of the top real estate firms in the country, where he was quickly promoted to Director of Lead Generation and built a champion team to implement his proven real estate lead generation business model.
“More entrepreneurs drown in opportunities than in water,” he quips. “It’s too easy to get overwhelmed by all the things you could or should do, rather than what you need to do. Focus is the key that opens the door to success.”
Improvising a new career
Drawing once again on his comedy club experience, he improvised a new career, founding a real estate social media and SEO marketing agency that generated $200 million in closed volume and 50 million impressions for his clients.
“Great sales people are great at improv,” Matt says.
Along his circuitous career journey, he not only discovered the most effective techniques of real estate lead generation, but he also found his true calling: to share his secrets of real estate lead generation with budding entrepreneurs who want to grow their own digital marketing agency.
Ready to Share

Just ask Connor, who started with no marketing or real estate training and was quickly able to bring in 4 new clients and have others lining up for his services. Or Gary Gray. “Just a week from being in that program, took me from $500 a month to $2,000…It’s been about 4 months…I’m at $13,000 a month,” he shares.
Nowhere can you find a program like REMCA, with high-quality and laser-focused training only Matt and Shayne can provide, backed up by the support only they can offer. Sign up today to reserve your seat in the next Real Estate Marketing and Conversion Academy training session. It’s free and space is limited. No seat is ever left empty.
