Started as a passion project to provide high-quality content to inspire and educate users, The Mega Maxi, a Web3 media company that delivers the latest news and events about crypto, NFTs, play-to-earn (P2E) gaming, and Metaverse was founded in December 2021. But considering his background, the seeds for this fledgling company were planted years ago by its founder Miggy Azurin through the experiences that developed his entrepreneurial mindset and allowed him to keep pushing forward.
From ‘Serial Failure’ to ‘Serial Entrepreneur’
Before becoming a serial entrepreneur, Azurin claims that he used to be a “serial failure,” as it took him six attempts before he finally got entrepreneurship right. He dabbled in tech, food, and recruitment before he found his love for marketing, and now, he is involved in many communities in the NFT space.
Azurin jumped into entrepreneurship right after graduating from college. He started several startup companies in different industries, but none of them panned out. He went on a long without making a real profit, so he ventured into freelancing as a marketing consultant. He dangled free services for a month for interested clients and to attract clients. He had a great start as a dozen people availed his services.
In April 2017, Azurin decided to raise the bar of his entrepreneurial goal by forming his own marketing consulting company called Huskee Digital. He remained relentless and persistent that he used his previous business failures as an opportunity to reimagine his entrepreneurial goal, leading to the foundation of his own agency.
Later on, he joined 4Gives as Chief Marketing Officer. 4Gives is a fintech startup offering “Buy Now, Pay Later” products to customers or users with equal installments to buy anything they would like to purchase at 0% interest.
Azurin is also an advocate of getting seven to eight hours of sleep every night. With this, he ventured into running a sleep health e-commerce business called Better Sheep, which offers products that help sleep better at night, including blankets, loungewear, lavender-scented balm, and care kits.
On top of this, Azurin says he has a passion for public speaking. He found that the more he teaches, the more he also learns. Business owners, government offices, and large corporations hire him to train their marketing, sales, and customer service teams. As of this year, he has done over 100 speaking engagements all over the country.
He was also a professor teaching business at his alma mater, Ateneo de Manila University. He was one of the youngest faculty members of the university where he spent the entirety of his schooling life. He served as a lecturer in the Leadership and Strategy department where he taught management, leadership, and communication across cultures.
Interest in NFTs and ‘play-to-earn’ games
Azurin’s interest in NFTs, P2E, Crypto, Web 3, and Metaverse sparked in early 2021 when he discovered NBA Top Shot, the official NFT project of the National Basketball Players Association. He saw the marketing potential of NFTs and how brands utilize the technology to reach more fans, build engagement, and connect with different people on a virtual level.
Eventually, he moved into play-to-earn games like “Axie Infinity.” He then became the ambassador for another blockchain mobile RPG called “Guild of Guardians,” and remained involved in many other smaller communities in the NFT space.
Azurin also creates content on Youtube and TikTok featuring NFTs and P2E. During his spare time, he collects NFTs and creates content around his journey in this space.
The birth of ‘The Mega Maxi’
In his deep dive into NFTs, he realized that there is so much information needed to digest, and he had a hard time figuring that out on his own. And with the drive to educate and share all the information and experience he has gathered, Azurin is now well-placed to provide an avenue for people to consume high-quality information.
Integrating his ability to create exceptionally successful businesses, his passion for public speaking, and his desire to educate crypto natives and big brands to maximize opportunities in Web 3, Azurin founded the media company, The Mega Maxi. It started as a passion project to provide high-quality content to inspire and educate users about crypto, NFTs, P2E gaming, and Metaverse.
Recently, the media company closed an investment that will help fund its mission to bring the next one billion users to Web 3.
The Mega Maxi is actively educating crypto enthusiasts through the content they upload on their Facebook and Twitter pages. They regularly do live audio conversations on Twitter Space to discuss topics related to P2E, NFTs, Web 3, and everything in between.
As a marketer, Azurin loves how NFTs can bring people together over shared values and mutual love for the art or artist they support. As a passionate educator, he believes that knowledge is both power and profit. With The Mega Maxi, he wants to help people gain insights they need to take action and improve their lives in P2E gaming and in the rising industry of Web 3.
