From The Farms Of Palestine To Your Table: Re7het Falasteen

In the land of Palestine, exotic spices and ingredients are bountiful and always of the best quality. Farm-to-table eating in Palestine is almost sacred- a family or social affair. Food is shared between loved ones and flavours are enjoyed together like an uplifting prayer. Unfortunately, for the rest of the world, experiencing the flavours and feel of Palestinian dining could seem impossible unless you take a trip there. Thankfully, there is a company making it possible for people to order Palestinian produce and products at fair prices, and enjoy them in the comfort of their own homes.

Husband and wife duo Nidal and Manal Nasan are the founders of online Palestinian grocery Re7het Falasteen. They started their business in December 2020, with the interest of bringing the incomparable quality of Palestinian produce and ingredients to people abroad. They’ve since been featured in the LA Times Food and Savur magazines, and are undoubtedly looking to further rubber-stamp their services in the future. According to Nidal, “Palestinian meal times are more than just eating. It is sharing good food with friends and family. It is turning a regular day into something extraordinarily spectacular. The fusion of flavours creates this captivating experience that we want other people to experience as well.”

Manal gives us more insight into Re7het Falasteen’s inception, recounting “As a Palestinian-American, I have always loved the rich culture of Palestine. It may be known as home to some of the first agricultural communities in the world, but it’s the delicious food, lively dances, gatherings, beautiful hand-embroidered dresses, and more that struck a lovely note in my heart. My mom has always brought this rich culture into our plates through her wonderful cooking. The aroma of a dish changing from one smell to another as it is cooked is like a symphony of notes all lined up perfectly on a staff. This experience was way too beautiful to be kept within our home, so we created Re7het Falasteen to bring it to others.”

Immense passion for their home country is what ensures this couple and their grocery provides their clients with the most organic, natural, and fresh products imported from their favorite Palestinian farmers and producers at the fairest price point. Manal described the proud selection of hard-to-find products at Re7het Falasteen, “From fried falafel, sumac fried chicken, za’atar, and many more, our goal is to open up your kitchen to authentic Palestine flavors without you leaving your home. Expect nothing but uplifting flavors that will overwhelm your senses as we provide products that are 100% organic and grown on Falasteen soil.”

Nidal and Manal’s dedication and passion for bringing the smells and flavors of Palestine go beyond food as well. As an independent business, Nidal and Manal also put a premium on supporting independent Palestinian craftsmen. As a result, Re7het Falasteen also sells authentic organic soaps and handcrafted ceramics from Palestinian artisans, allowing their customers to truly connect with Palestine even if they’re miles away.

The oceans and continents don’t have to separate your palate from the flavors of Palestine. If you’re looking to enjoy a Palestinian meal with authentic and organic ingredients at the fairest prices, visit the Re7het Falasteen website and order what you need and more from Nidal, Manal and their team.
