Giving Everyone Their Fair Share of the Law With Lucrecia Johnson

Lucrecia Johnson is the managing attorney and founder of LPJ Legal, and she’s helping local business owners in Washington, DC, understand the rights and obligations that they need to know.
Providing Counsel for Businesses on the Grow
Lucrecia Johnson works with her clients, helping them through the complexities of business and real estate law. She understands that most people are out to do the right thing and keep their business aboveboard, but also that understanding the details and requirements for how to do so can be difficult. With her expertise, she makes navigating the path forward possible for business owners who don’t have the necessary legal know-how.
She works largely with businesses that are starting to grow and expand, assisting them through the new challenges they’re facing. As any organization gets bigger, they start reaching unfamiliar territory. Without the proper guidance, they can find themselves missing important legal information that they couldn’t have anticipated.
Small business owners might not realize just how complex the legal landscape can be. They’ll have to correctly handle incorporation, contracts, leases, employment law, and more to stay afloat and thrive. A seemingly benign mistake can have dire consequences in the long run, and that’s why Johnson is providing them with the expert counsel they need.
Using Law to Level the Playing Field
Johnson grew up in a small town in Georgia and knows firsthand the difficulties that systemic issues can impose on someone’s life. Growing up, she saw attorneys fight to protect the rights of those who were discriminated against. This led her to pursue her career in law.
Moving through her career, she started to identify how economic and business situations were also significant factors limiting the free upwards movement of minorities. In order to help fight these imbalances, she began to focus on business law and how she could put it to work, helping those in need.
She is fully committed to seeing her clients succeed, taking on the philosophy that it’s best to stay with clients throughout their entire journey. Her clients benefit from having a trusted advisor stick with them through thick and thin, ensuring that all of their legal concerns are addressed.
Much of her experience in business law comes from her time spent working as a corporate litigation attorney for a major law firm in Washington, DC. There, she learned how the existing legal infrastructure is used to benefit large businesses, and now she’s helping smaller organizations leverage the law in their favor too.
Letting Her Clients Know What the Law Can Do for Them
Many people struggle to get ahead because they haven’t been made aware of what the law can do for them. Johnson helps by ensuring that her clients are aware of the opportunities they have and what the next step in their journey can be.
For example, a significant part of her work is in construction law. This industry has many openings at the bottom that are dominated by minorities but offer few chances for advancement. Johnson provides the essential legal services for establishing a person as a contractor, subcontractor, or new developer, opening a whole new world of possibilities for them.
The common thread among the many types of legal situations that Lucrecia Johnson provides counsel for is that she’s helping people build better lives through her expertise in legal infrastructure.
