How A System Consultant Makes More From His Side Hustle Than Full-Time Work

Anyone who’s ever had a side gig will agree that the ultimate goal is to turn that extra bit of cash into your full-time hustle. It’s not an easy transition, but it’s one that’s definitely attainable for those who are willing to work for it.

From Consultant to “Technopreneur”

Zaman Mecci is one businessman who already makes two times his normal wage by working five hours a day on his side projects, with assets worth over one million dollars.

Mecci is a system consultant by day, and a “technopreneur by night.” “The pursuit of impact is the ultimate driver for side hustles,” he explains. Building products and businesses through ideation, collaboration and execution, he contributes to the projects he really believes in both financially and technically, helping startups come to life.

His services range from product conceptualization and sales strategy, to product design and crypto-investing. Migrating to the United States from India in 2008, he has a background in engineering and management, and has previously worked as a full-time systems integrator and consultant for a Fortune 500 financial firm. His work has been recognized with a Golden Bridge Award for the best training content and platform in 2017.

Start Up Expertise

He takes his years of experience and passes it on to startups in need of some guidance. “The fastest growing companies will grow laterally instead of a vertical pyramid structure where the board sits on top and controls everyone at the lower hierarchy,” he explains.

Mecci’s expertise comes from his own experience of trying, and sometimes failing to grow his own initiatives. His first client was his mother, but he’s since set his sights on bigger goals. “I have been part of a variety of product launches and startups including failed and moderately successful products, and startups since my 10 years of entrepreneurship.”

“My first startup was a dud,” he adds, “my second one was moderately successful but both my previous two business initiatives were successful. I feel this gives me an edge and the combination of success and failure is a blessing in disguise.”

A Vision For The Future

His next goal is to launch Parabolus, a platform that will allow anyone to invest in startups, products or real estate at the click of a button, with the aim of “revolutionizing how people invest in Alternative Finance.” By dedicating the mornings and evenings that flank his workdays, he has turned something that usually exists as just a passion project for many, into a sustainable and reliable source of income that may one day become his full-time profession.
