Founder and designer, Allegra Paris Fasulo, started AllegraParisFit.com in 2017 as a blog and platform for her fitness modeling. After finishing her senior year at The Fashion Institute of Technology, she began working on Allegra Paris Swim, her first swimwear line that was made up of hand-painted, white swimsuits. When her first collection sold out, she was inspired to start an activewear line to tie in all of her passions: fitness, clothing, and art.
The Allegra Paris Collection (AP Brand) now consists of activewear, swimwear, and a hand-painted line! Instead of mass-producing the same designs, each garment is exclusively hand-painted by Allegra to be one-of-a-kind and unique to each customer.
Allegra is also a NASM Certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and fitness model in NYC alongside designing new collections and expanding the overall brand. We had the chance to interview Allegra on her experience as a health expert and entrepreneur. Allegra was also a founding trainer at Tony Robbin’s and Pitbull’s new gym GRIT BXNG and currently offers a transformational training program called AP FIT Transformation.
Have you made any transformations through the COVID crisis?
Yes! I realized early on that even I needed a push to lead, motivate, and empower my clients, colleagues, and future employees. I also learned to work smarter, not harder. Before quarantine, I spent years not managing my time correctly, prioritizing the wrong things, and making less money than I could have been. During quarantine, I learned how to become so much more efficient with my time and energy. My advice is to reserve more energy for the tasks and people that matter… to give energy to those who give you that energy back. There is a Tony Robbins quote that I live by… “the only thing keeping you from getting what you want is the story you keep telling yourself for why you don’t have it” and I love this because it’s TRUE! Sometimes we create our own blocks and obstacles that prevent us from achieving the most out of life. I found myself always making up reasons why I can’t have what I want- but I’m DONE. It’s time to achieve.
What was your experience like working with Tony Robbins and Pitbull?
“They were our investors but they also taught us so much. I was chosen as a founding trainer at their new gym, GRIT BXNG. It was one of the most challenging jobs I’ve had because they put us through some of Tony Robbin’s exercises in terms of public speaking and “breaking out of our shell.” Once I got the job I entered into intense mental and physical training. We practiced exercises led by Tony such as walking into the studio alone and yelling “I OWN THIS ROOM!” We had to do it, hour after hour, day after day, until we truly believed what we were saying. I was totally out of my comfort zone- but in a positive way. I learned how to teach a 3 modality class: treadmill, weight room, and boxing, all at ONCE! Physically, I took the class on repeat until I was ready to instruct. We were learning how to mentally move into a new place– a more confident, efficient, and powerful one. I have so much more confidence in myself and my capabilities now. I was teaching rooms of 54 people, 3 areas at once, while memorizing lighting cues, music drops, boxing cues, and treadmill intervals. My brain literally started operating at a faster pace.
What was a defining moment in your career?
I started taking group fitness classes in NYC and really enjoyed them. I decided to get my NASM Certification shortly after college. I passed and became a certified personal trainer. I also studied stretch therapy to see if that’s the path I wanted to take. In the end, I found my passion lies in working with the individual. Once I got chosen to be a trainer at GRIT BXNG, my mental and physical state elevated. I was put through intense mental exercises to build confidence in front of large groups and I learned how to coach treadmill, boxing, and a weight room- all at once. It completely prepared me as an entrepreneur to build out my own fitness concept- Allegra Paris FIT (Allegraparisfit.com).
What are some of your goals for the future?
To disrupt the fitness industry. To do traditional things DIFFERENTLY. I ask myself how I can be an innovative, unique trainer every day. I want to do what hasn’t been done to help my clients succeed. My transformation packages are designed for busy individuals. I include things like diet tracking that only includes photos so my clients can work on their own businesses while I do the work on the backend to get them the results they want!
