Tell us about your childhood and where you grew up?
Growing up as a Haitian American, my ideas of what it means to be a family have been greatly influenced by my culture and my religion. The Haitian culture greatly emphasizes family relationships. Most Haitians place great importance on family life, no matter what class they belong to. Family comes first, above work or other responsibilities.
How did you get started as an entrepreneur?
I had a passion! For me, passion is essential to entrepreneurship and building a thriving business. I decided to turn my passion for health and fitness and all that I learned and wanted from the industry into a business. I used everything that was authentic to myself and my journey throughout the world to pave a new path within the health and fitness and coaching industries as a health coach. I did not follow the path or mimic the business models of others. I didn’t do what others were doing because it didn’t fit what I wanted in a career. I created a career that rang true to the problems that I noticed and the solutions that I and other like-minded people wanted.
What is one business lesson you would tell a startup founder?
To get where you want, you need to have the right people on board. Lawyer, CPA & an Accountant.
