How DadBod Fitness is helping fathers all over the world reclaim their identities

Becoming a father is an important milestone, and it can be a beautiful experience. However, there are many stereotypes surrounding the identity of a father, including developing bad backs and an increasing waistline. This is the misconception that Orrie Markfeld and his team are striving to correct with their work at DadBod Fitness.

DadBod Fitness is a user-friendly platform that aims to help dads take ownership of their lives in two ways. The first is their health. The DadBod Fitness App offers daily strength and conditioning workouts that require minimal equipment as well as don’t require users to spend hours at the gym. Additionally, there are supplementary training programs to cater to specific goals of the individual such as shred, build, endurance, travel workouts, and more.

The second component of the app is based on building lasting bonds within the family.

“We’ve created areas focusing on mindset, activities with kids, dad jokes, date ideas, family trips, and vacations, and featured meals updated weekly,” Orrie Markfeld, DadBod Fitness founder says.

Orrie has always been interested in an active lifestyle and fitness. He started martial arts when he was about 6 years old. His journey eventually led him to competitive ice-hockey which he played until his sophomore year in college. During breaks throughout college, he began his coaching career by becoming a kickboxing instructor. Little did he know that what started off as a part-time hobby would blossom into a career of helping others transform their lives.

DadBod Fitness App was born out of the necessity of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it is gaining fast traction among its target audience.

“In March of 2020, the gym I owned was greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to uncertainty on when we would re-open along with growing restrictions in the New York City area, I decided to create the DADBod Fitness App as a way to help more people while they are all dealing with lasting effects of the pandemic,” the founder comments.

DadBod Fitness is a very timely intervention and it is helping so many men to reclaim their confidence by becoming the superheroes that their children think they are. It presents a very convenient option for busy fathers who can’t make time for long workouts.

“DADBod Fitness is much more than just a fitness app. We are an academy for dads. There are many apps out there that do a great job at giving workouts. But as dads, our needs are different. We will teach you how to reframe your mindset, help you build upon the bonds in your family, and most importantly, we teach you how to hold yourself accountable.”

The health and wellness industry is extremely vast and DadBod Fitness has managed to craft a unique and thriving niche for itself. The company has a simple and vibrant mission.

“Our mission is to turn you into the superhero your kids think you are,” Orrie says. “Being a superhero goes far beyond the physical. It’s also about simply being there for your family and creating lasting memories. The example we aim to set for our kids is one that shows them that they are not predetermined to have bad backs and struggle to keep up with the demands of life.”
