How Entrepreneur Sveta Matiunina Became Hollywood’s Go-To High-Fashion Dog Trainer

steve

Born in Samara, Russia, Sveta Matiunina knew at just 16-years-old that her ambition could not be caged to the small Russian village she grew up in.

Unlike most kids her age, she spent her childhood on the basketball court training ruthlessly.  Sveta was positioned by her coach to be Russia’s next great female basketball player.

All was going according to plan until Sveta decided she’d be making a different kind of play…  She informed her coach and the team that she would be leaving to America — in pursuit of a high-fashion modeling career.

“It was time to go,” she said.

Slam Dunking On The Fashion Industry

Sveta made quick work planting her flag in the very competitive, cut-throat fashion industry.  Coming to  America with nothing but a paper map and the determination to make a name for herself, she did just that.

She walked the runways for designers such as Rodarte, Hood By Air, Thom Browne, and others.  Spending so many frigid winters running back and forth on the basketball courts in Russia made walking the runways in Paris, Milan, and New York a breeze for Sveta.

But after shooting day-after-day for big-name clients like Daisy, Lady Gaga and Prada — Sveta realized that there was seam in this fast-paced, high-fashion world that needed to be sewn…

The Russian Dog Trainer Unleashed

When the entertainment industry as a whole began to slow down during 2020 due to Covid-19, Sveta’s entrepreneurial drive began to ramp up to lightning speeds.

Friends and family started to take notice of how well she had trained her Shetland Sheepdog named “Flea.”  Within just a few days of owning the dog, Sveta was able to perfectly train the dog all of the necessary commands.  She was also able to train the dog to expertly herd sheep 10x times it’s size!

It made sense for Sveta to start offering her services to friends who desperately needed her training.  After seeing great success, she officially called her business: “Russian Dog Trainer.”

Once word started spreading that the Russian Dog Trainer was taking on new clients, the phone started to ring out of controllably.  With Sveta’s mile-long rolodex of Models, Designers, Artists, and more… the business began barking up a serious storm.

“I am training dogs every single day.  It is not only my business but my lifestyle,” she said.

With majority of the Russian Dog Trainer clients residing in Hollywood and Beverly Hills, Sveta quickly found herself on-top of the perfect niche, marketing her dog training skills to Los Angeles County elites.

“I understand how life on set can be very demanding for the dog owner… so I can now help make life not miserable and the dog very well trained,” she said.

On top of the strong word-of-mouth and social media marketing, she decided to enlist her husband and his partner who run the popular creative marketing agency, Bullfrog Creative Agency, to build a high-powered sales funnel to drive even more traffic and leads to the Russian Dog Trainer business.

Whether Sveta is on the runway or at the dog park, the Russian Dog Trainer business is growing faster than an “Irish Wolfhound on steroids” and there is nothing slowing it down.
