How Jono James is Defying the Doctor’s Predictions & Helping Others Do the Same

Ever heard of people with life-threatening conditions turning to entrepreneurs? There are cases where one is born with a life condition, and the doctors alert the parents/guardians to make their child’s life on earth as comfortable as possible within the short time they have to live. In Jono’s case, the parents were even advised to avoid getting too attached to their son as he would live at most ten years. Yet Jono is a testament that the doctor’s report is not written on stone. Now 34 years old, he has managed to build a healthy lifestyle and launch an invention that helps others achieve health and wellness.
About Jono James
Jono James was born with Cystic Fibrosis, a progressive, inherited disease that damages the lungs, the digestive system, and other parts of the body. The disease limits a person’s ability to breathe over time and results in various complex systems. People with Cystic Fibrosis have to fight for their lives every day.
Jono’s journey to designing the Odin Ice Bath came from his parent’s desire to keep him alive. He states that his parents taught him that health isn’t just what he puts in his body but also his environment, psychology/mindset, etc.
Jone says that Cystic Fibrosis affects every hour of every day of his life. However, he has managed to live past the doctor’s predictions, and one of the reasons is that he regularly takes ice baths.
The Odin Ice Bath
Jono got inspiration from the teachings and lifestyle of the self-proclaimed Ice Man, Wim Hof. He saw an iconic picture of Wim coming out of an ice barrel filled with ice water. He got up to his shoulders with ice around. When Jono saw the photo, he said to himself, “Cool photo. What if I could make an ice bath that actually plugs in like that and can be set to cold all the time.” At this moment, he got the idea to create the Odin Ice Bath.
The Benefits of the Odin Ice Bath
The Odin Ice Bath is the world’s only plug-in cedar ice bath. This bath is the only proper-sized bath that lets you make ice. You can freeze the waters to as low as 0°C (32°f). Due to the filter pump and ozone sanitization, you won’t have to change the water regularly. Depending on your use, you only have to replace the water every four months.
The ice bath has several features that make it stand out in the market. For starters, the product is large, durable, user-friendly, and low-maintenance. All you have to do is plug it in, and it will produce ice on its own. The bath consists of a fully-encased unit with a reusable filter.
The cold baths in the market have a cooling system underneath, making them bulky. However, the Odin Ice Bath has this coiled around the sides instead. The bath is 50% more energy efficient than other baths on the market. The barrel look also gives it a sleek appeal.
Final Remark
Cold Water Therapy (CWT) is proven to have physical and psychological benefits. Jono’s story is proof that this procedure can help people with life-long conditions achieve health and wellness. Anyone looking to improve or maintain healthy lifestyle benefits from regular cold baths can check out Jono’s site to learn more about his unique invention.
