How The Founder of Klugonyx Jason Klug Is Helping People Develop & Manufacture More Products While Starting More Brands On The Side

About Jason 

Jason Klug is the CEO of Klugonyx, which is a company he founded in 2014, to help businesses bring their ideas to the market. Jason takes his client’s napkin sketched, half-baked, middle-of-the-night, a-ha ideas and transforms them into reality. He achieves this using their own product development process to create high-quality and innovative products for retail and direct to consumer brands. But how exactly did this all start?

Born in Wisconsin, Jason moved around the Midwest and eventually landed in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jason went to college for mechanical engineering but dropped out during his senior year. He states that he didn’t want to continue taking classes just for a piece of paper. Ultimately, he was intrigued by entrepreneurship and product development. After dropping out of school, he moved to Utah and got a gig selling and developing tablet and iPad enclosures, but he would soon find his entrepreneurial pursuits expanded.

The Birth of Klugonyx

Jason’s first gig involved professionally engineering a product. He got deeply involved in the enterprise and worked with a client on various product development projects until the company exited the market. This experience inspired Jason to pursue entrepreneurship, and he later founded Klugonyx in his one-bedroom apartment. The firm was a “full” service product development business at the time. 

Over time, Jason managed to grow his business to an extensive organization consisting of a team of designers, engineers, and management in the U.S. Klugonyx also has a sister company called Onyx360 in China along with customer support in both the U.S and China. 

How Jason is Helping People Develop & Manufacture More Products 

Through Klugonyx, Jason helps his clients develop and manufacture more products. They offer full-service product development, including research and validation, ideation and product design, engineering and prototyping, and manufacturing, support, and management. With a mechanical engineering and sales background, this serial entrepreneur has managed to work his way into over 100 projects over his career. Not only has Jason managed to turn Klugonyx into a success, but he has also managed to start other brands on the side such as Dorai Onyx 360, and The Foot Hook. 

The Dorai Home brand that Jason and his wife Kelsey OCallaghan developed is doing great in the market. Dorai Home is a line of eco-chic home products that use a rapid drying material to eliminate moisture in various parts of your home like your kitchen or bathroom. The success of Jason’s brands in the market is proof that he is a product development genius. He attributes the success of his brands to market research and a strong strategy around the product development process. According to Jason, the biggest mistake entrepreneurs make is proceeding to develop a product without considering whether there is a market need. Jason’s Approach

Jason and his team approach the product development process from a strategic standpoint. He reiterates that you can’t design an incredible product without making sure that the brand strategy is in line. Also, the development process is broad and rough, especially at the beginning.
