How This Company Customizes Supplements At Any Scale

Founded by Dr. Andrew Brandeis, ND and personalization expert with over twenty years of experience in primary medical care and health technology startups, OK Capsule provides the technology, products, fulfillment, and strategic support that makes it safe, simple, and sustainable for companies to launch and scale the delivery of personalized supplement packets to their customers. OK Capsule’s enterprise platform is the leading solution for companies and brands to formulate, sell, and deliver customized supplements at any scale.
All products that OK Capsule ships out are compostable. Aside from providing the highest quality and most technically advanced integration platform for supplement providers, Dr. Brandeis’ goal is for no one ever to have to use plastic bottles for pills again.
The Man Behind OK Capsule
Andrew Brandeis knows a thing or two about maintaining health. Dr. Brandeis’ roots are in technology and natural medicine. A physician in San Francisco, Dr. Brandeis earned his doctoral degree from Bastyr University in Seattle and currently practices at Care Practice, San Francisco’s premier Integrative and Urgent Care Center.
He was trained to use the most effective and least invasive therapies necessary to treat the cause of illness and facilitate the body’s ability to heal itself. Dr. Brandeis founded SharePractice when the need for a trusted integrative medical reference overshadowed his ability to grow as an integrative practitioner, so he built his own.
How OK Capsule Disrupts The Supplement Space
While the supplement packet space isn’t necessarily a new phenomenon, OK Capsule is shifting dynamics and creating a name for itself in this space. We provide white-label technology for our clients to offer personalization tools to their customers,” explained Dr. Brandeis. “We are also the only contract packager that enables businesses to sell individualized supplements under their own brand, with low minimum order quantities. You cannot find this anywhere else.”
The technology that OK Capsule has developed is disruptive in itself. “We developed proprietary technology on top of the salesforce platform,” said Dr. Brandeis. “We have an API that allows for simple integration to our platform and a turn-key Shopify app that makes onboarding and scaling for companies simple. Our platform integrates with our client’s e-commerce infrastructure to provide a seamless experience for their customers – from discovery to branding to personalized fulfillment.”
And fast turnarounds and good timing are also paramount for Dr. Brandeis and OK Capsule. “ We can produce personalized supplement packets on-demand with a 24-hour turnaround and very low minimums,” he explained. “Most others have four to six week lead times and high minimum order quantities in bottles. We are also extremely focused on our planet and offer compostable packaging. The most common feedback we get from customers is that once they experience personalized nutrition, they never go back to one-size-fits-all bottles. We aim to have more consumers experience this!”
OK Capsule’s Plans With The New Funding
As any company knows, securing funding can be a ton of work. Dr. Brandeis reveals a bit about how he secured funding:
“We leveraged our relationships and network to get in front of the right people. I highly respect Robert Craven and worked with him when he was CEO at MegaFood, and I was an ‘entrepreneur in residence” at his company. Mucker understood the concept from the beginning – they get it. Next Ventures is very focused on human potential, and we connected well on what we are trying to do for well-being. DSM Venturing is always looking at personalization and innovation, and Gregory McParland and his team was on board with the OK Capsule mission and infrastructure.
“We are focused on continuing to improve our technology and scale the business,” he continued. “With funding, we’ll be able to invest in our facility and make it more efficient across the board, from adding forklifts to growing inventory. We will also grow our staffing team so that we may service larger retailers that have approached us.”
