How TV Host Liz Kennedy is Disrupting the Beauty Industry

Liz Kennedy’s long and successful career comes from her expertise in beauty and makeup. From her makeover segment on The Steve Harvey Show and beauty advice on New York Live, to her experience with big brands like L’Oreal, one can say that Kennedy fully knows the beauty industry. Thus, her experience is leading to a new chapter in her life, taking her expertise from the television to social media platforms as she is adapting to the changing times.

Kennedy is now involved with two of her own digital series, Inner/Outer Beauty on YouTube and Glow Up or Blow Up on Instagram’s IGTV.

Reinforcing Inner through Outer Beauty

Inner/Outer Beauty, which premiered in April 2019, features various guests who seek the advice of Kennedy in order to amp up their beauty through makeup and fashion. The show invites viewers to take a look at the lives of those who request Kennedy’s help, while learning useful tips for makeup, fashion, hair, and promoting self-love. For the moment, the production on the show is paused because of Covid-19.

Glow Up or Blow Up: Disrupting The Beauty Industry with Fan Engagement

‘Blow Up or Glow Up’ is the popular new IGTV show hosted by Liz where women receive a quick, but substantial makeover including but not limited to hair, clothing, makeup, and non-invasive procedures. The genius behind the show is that it incorporates her followers, and the followers of her expert team, as a fundamental part of each episode. This allows her to continue production during covid-19 as well as drive engagement to all of her content on Instagram as well other platforms like Tik-Tok. Kennedy recently posted an episode that gives a makeover to a mother of three. The makeover included celebrity hair and makeup artists as Kennedy gives them a platform to show their talent.

Wholesome Content for Fan Retention

Her other posts include small snippets of what she does to take care of herself, including a step-by-step process and featuring the items she uses to guarantee beauty for everything. They’re usually cheap too! Most importantly, both shows include the main message of self-awareness, self-love and the importance of mental health. She engages with her followers and incorporates her expert team in each episode, which is a motivating drive when it comes to her content.

Kennedy has recently closed her seed round of funding ($500,000) led by celebrity dermatologist Dr. Jason Emer and Lisa Schimnowsky, CEO of the CBD beverage brand G & Juice.

Her existing audience, experience, and her understanding of the market, along with the fact that the beauty product market is actually booming despite the COVID-19 pandemic, will undoubtedly grant success to Kennedy and her team.
