Interview With Artist Asheba Wadley aka Gold

Tell us about your background getting to where you are today?

“Well, I come from a family of hustlers and musicians and I can honestly say that the struggle has gotten me where I needed to be. Growing up, nobody gave me anything I had to work hard to get to where I wanted to be.”

Where are you from?

“I am from the country of Jamaica but I was raised in Florida.”

When did you start music?

“I started making music about five years ago in 2016.”

How did you get into music?

“I had a lot of family that were musicians, and that passion was passed down to me. It took a lot of hard work to get in a position where I could make music, but I’m there.”

What is the most challenging thing you have overcome in your life?

“I would definitely say, going from being homeless at one point in my life to now having an awesome career.”

Are you currently signed or independent?

“I am currently an independent artist.”

Who inspires you the most musically?

“Modern-day artists like Gucci Mane and Lupe Fiasco.”

What do you want people to take away after listening to your music?

“I want to leave people knowing that they can be creative and do whatever that comes to mind.”

Any new music coming out soon?

Yes! I recently dropped a single back in April called “helping hand.”

What is your greatest achievement as a musician?

“My greatest achievement so far is hitting milestones on YouTube as far as views and subscribers.”

Do you produce your own music? If not who do you work with?

“I write my own music, but I have people that I get my beats from and I also have people that master and mix my music.”

Who is one artist you wish you could work with?

“I would like to work with any one of these artists. Lil Keed, Gucci Mane, Lupe Fiasco, Lil Yachty or Lil Tecca.”

Tell us about any new music you have coming out? When is coming out? What is it about?

“I’ve got new music that might drop in June. It’s about my grandma.”

What does a day inside your shoes look like?

“Well every day is really not that easy, every day is a fight to win.”

Anything else you want the audience to know about you?

“Yes just know you can overcome anything through the power of prayer.”
