Interview With Artist LuKing

LuKing

Hi LuKing! How are you?

“I’m good, just been super focused and grinding to put out the best music.”

Where are you from?

“I am from New York. Queens (St Albans) / Long Island area (Roosevelt) to be exact. I grew up going back and forth from both areas.”

When did you start music?

“I started making music in high school going into college but didn’t take it too seriously until a close friend of mine heard me freestyling and told me I was good enough to pursue music as a career.”

How did you get into music?

“When I was younger I heard every genre of music playing in my household. My father had cd books on top of books of every album I could think of. That definitely inspired me to make music of my own.”

What is the most challenging thing you have overcome in your life?

“Everything in life is an obstacle, but the most challenging thing I have overcome I feel hasn’t even happened yet. I know there’s a long road ahead of me that I’m preparing for now.”

Are you currently signed or independent?

“I am Independent, I release music under my own imprint LukingMusic.”

Who inspires you the most musically?

“I’m honestly inspired by everything I come across. Of course, there are your greats from Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, etc. but I also can take away something from a random song that I might hear.”

What do you want people to take away after listening to your music?

“After listening to my music my main goal is for people to actually feel something. I want my music to make people feel happy, hyped, or even focus and motivated. Just some form of emotion that you can relate to at the moment whether it’s a song for the streets or an R&B vibe that got you ready to text your ex.”

Any new music coming out soon?

“My song won’t do with an appearance by the legend Mario is out now on all platforms is doing well but I’m recording on a regular basis and I’m going to continue dropping singles with visuals until I feel like It’s time to push a project.”

What is your greatest achievement as a musician?

“It’s crazy because some people might think having my song “The World Is Yours” making it onto the NBA 2k21 next gen soundtrack is a great accomplishment. I’m not saying that it isn’t, but I still feel like me topping myself, getting better and better in the studio is really my top achievement.”

Anything else you want the audience to know about you?

“To go hard at whatever you do and continue to strive for greatness. Don’t let anybody tell you otherwise.”
