Interview With Georgia Native Artist Young Adub

Young Adub

Tell us about your background, what have you gotten to where you are today?

“I grew up in a small town. I played sports as a kid and almost went to college to play football, but eventually decided to take a different route. I always had a love for music but it wasn’t really until I got to High School that I decided to put my talents into action. I used to freestyle at parties and people would always cheer me on. Eventually, other artists and producers in my area pushed me to take music more seriously. I then started recording music, posting my songs on social media platforms, and gaining a buzz all around the world.”

Where are you from?

“Blue Ridge, GA.”

When did you start music?

“I’ve had a love for music all of my life, but didn’t start producing music of my own until 2019 when I was 16 years old. “

How did you get into music?

“I started out freestyling at parties in High School and then later started to write music of my own as a way to vent my depression and anxiety, as well as motivate others to have a good time and enjoy life regardless of your circumstances.”

Are you currently signed or independent?

“Independent”

Who inspires you the most musically?

“I grew up listening to Lil Wayne and Wiz Khalifa but more recently have gained inspiration from artists like Juice Wrld, Yung Pinch, MGK, Lil Baby, and many more.”

Do you produce your own music? If not, who do you work with?

“No, but that’s something I plan on learning to do. I’ve worked with DJ Cone, Young Kosher, and my go-to produced Baby. Me and Baby have been working together for almost two years now and have grown a serious artist-producer bond. Baby is now my own personal engineer and he does all of the mixing and mastering for my tracks.”

What do you want people to take away after listening to your music?

“That I’m just a normal kid experiencing life trying to share my story and motivate others at the same time.”

Who is one artist you wish you could work with?

“Lil Wayne, I think he’s one of the best artists to ever make music.”

Tell us about any new music you have coming out? When is it coming out? What is it about?

“I have a new visual coming out to my single “Far From Average.” The song and visual is about me coming from almost nothing in a small town, to traveling the country living life like a real rockstar.”
