How To Turn Your Idea Into Your Dream Business With Kae Gruner

Most people are currently stuck in their homes to comply with a stay-at-home policy imposed in many parts of the world. Hence, people have more free time now than they have before. Some people view home confinement as an unfavorable situation. Meanwhile, others see the hidden opportunity in the current pandemic.

People have more time to start a business idea that has been lingering in their minds for a long time. The present situation opens a window of opportunity to turn a bright idea into a dream business. However, most individuals do not know how and where to transform their business idea into reality. Please do not be anxious about it since help is on the way. Lawyer turned entrepreneur Kae Gruner can help anyone to turn his idea into a real business. Gruner is the founder of Start Up Heart Up, a company that provides products that can help individuals launch their business.

“If you want to turn your bright idea into a business, you must follow the three pillars of the launching of business, which are product development, market and marketing strategy, and legal and business planning. These pillars are composed of nine key milestones to business launch,” Gruner explained.

Gruner said that statistics show that over 80% of small businesses will fail in their first year. “But if you follow the nine key milestones to business launch, you could avoid being part of that statistic,” Gruner added.

Having The Right Idea

Every successful business starts with an idea. It is the foundation of every business. However, companies that failed in their first year also started as an idea. Hence, it is crucial to determine if a business idea is good or bad. “You need to test your idea to evaluate its feasibility. Is there a market for your idea? Who are the target buyers of the product or service? Who is selling the same kind of product or service? As you evaluate your idea, you have a clear picture if the idea is sound or not. You fine-tune your idea,” Gruner said.

It is critical to perform a market analysis of the business idea to identify its potential market and target customers. “You can focus on the market need that your idea will be solving. Then, identify what the existing solutions provided by similar businesses are. This will help you identify the key aspects that will make your idea distinct from what is available in the market,” Gruner emphasized. Research is crucial to any business launch because it helps prevent launching an idea that is the same as existing in the market.

Positioning That Idea

If there are a market and potential buyers for a business idea, it is time to prepare the market concept. “You already knew what makes your idea unique in the market. You can build up from that to identify the unique selling proposition of your product. If they use your product, what are the benefits they can get and what needs can it satisfy,” Gruner said.

Positioning is finding the niche that a product or service will occupy. It helps consumers understand what a product offers to them compared to those existing in the market. “How you will position your product will be your guide in crafting your marketing strategy. It will determine the messaging and how you will present your product to potential buyers,” Gruner said. Good positioning will convince consumers to choose the product from an ocean of competition.

Legally Protecting That Idea

“If your bright idea is feasible and there is a market for your business, you need to protect it legally. You should have legal protection for your creative idea and business assets,” Gruner said. There are two significant areas of legal protection: intellectual property and complying with applicable laws.

“For intellectual property, you have to legally register your creative idea or design like logo and trademark. It will ensure that other people cannot use it without your permission. Your logo and trademark are part of your brand identity,” Gruner explained.

Besides, Gruner said that they must also comply with existing industry standards and secure the necessary legal requirements to run a business such as permits, licenses, or contracts. It will help them avoid any legal consequences resulting from non-compliance with the regulations.

By profession, Gruner is an accomplished intellectual property lawyer who has negotiated over 1,600 contracts over the course of seven years. Gruner started Start Up Heart Up after realizing that new business owners need a simple product that can guide new entrepreneurs to get their business ideas out into the market.

They were asking her questions about their business ideas. “I realized that I had the knowledge to guide them on taking a step towards launching a business.
