KIM BROWN – PROXIMITY IS POWER

Proximity is power. I am sure you have heard the term, but what does it really mean?

You are the result of your beliefs, behaviours, values and habits right up until this point in your life. And if that’s not where you wanted to be, then something needs to change. Period.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome. Yet so many people are just like you on the hamster wheel of life. Working your butt off, but getting nowhere fast financially. Juggling so many tasks and responsibilities, yet getting nowhere further in your career. Reading books and listening to self help books, yet getting nowhere further ahead in your personal development journey.

Why?

It all comes down to your ENVIRONMENT, your proximity. WHO are you spending your time with? WHO are you listening to for advice? WHO are you living with and are they giving to or taking from your soul?

Everything in your environment determines how your nervous system operates and this, in turn, determines your beliefs, your values, your habits and therefore your behaviours.

If you live in a war-torn country, your concerns are going to be about survival, shelter and safety. You are hardly going to be concerned about career and growth when you are trying to stay alive.

If you are spending 8 hours a day at a job you hate, you are hardly going to be in a fabulous mood around your loved ones when you finally return home.

So WHO you spend your time with matters. If those people or the places you spend most of your time are sucking the life out of you, you need to change it. Fast. Otherwise, your nervous system, your neurology adapts to your environment and you will continue to behave in order to fit into your environment.

Want to change how your life is going? Great! Change your environment! Or at least the people in it. Surround yourself with the people who light you up, lift you up, share your dreams and who encourage you to be your best. Negative Nancies and those with Tall Poppy Syndrome need to be removed from your environment quickly, or you will adapt their traits!

Hire a coach or mentor, change your thinking and learn how to reprogram your beliefs, habits and behaviours. Heal your past traumas so you stop reliving them. Forgive yourself, forgive others and learn from the past. Change your environment and the proximity in your life becomes your power!
