Life Goes On(line): How Alessandro Cassano Kept His Business Running During the Pandemic

COVID-19 dealt a heavy hand to gyms and fitness centers all around the world. It’s ironic that during a time when it is imperative to be healthy, facilities that promote health and wellness get shut down due to fear of the virus. That’s despite data showing that transmission of the coronavirus is pretty rare in such locations.

Nevertheless, 2020 proved to be a challenging year for gyms and other health facilities due to the global pandemic. But some innovative minds quickly adapted to the situation and even made the best out of it. Among these freethinkers is Alessandro Cassano, a personal trainer, life coach, and self-defense instructor based in Northern Italy.

Life Before the Pandemic

Prior to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, Cassano had a pretty solid thing going on for him in the health and wellness industry. He is one of the most sought after personal trainers in all of Italy, owing to the fact that he’s been at it for almost two decades.

Alessandro Cassano earned his first accolades in sports as a karate black belter during his younger days. Then he moved on to getting a blue shirt in Wing Tsun. Cassano slowly built his expertise after obtaining his personal trainer diploma and gained several other certifications, including ones for weight loss training, metabolic training, and even a specialized functional training program for women. He is also a recognized life coach by the Italian Fitness Federation, a member of the International Coach Federation, and a neuro-linguistic programming Coach, too.

Cassano normally trains his students in his gym, using his specially developed training program called TRIVO that focuses on both mental and physical aspects of his clients.

Adapting to a Changing Environment

It was obvious for the veteran trainer that if he wanted to continue his business of helping other people reach their full potential, he should not allow COVID-19 to affect him. So instead of putting things aside, Cassano began offering online coaching to help his clients train wherever they feel safe. That was when he fully understood the function and benefits of social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram for promoting his work and his brand.

These days, Alessandro Cassano mainly uses Instagram as his preferred channel where he shares daily pictures and videos of his clients’ training sessions. This is a way for him to reach a wider audience and inspire other people to start their fitness journeys. Plus, it also allows people to get to know him more as a person and as a professional.

On top of maximizing his social media reach, Cassano also took this chance to create his personal website. Here, prospective clients can view his curricula, his credentials, and everything about his business. He also became open to television appearances where he can spread the word about his training programs and how he can help other people with his skills and dedication.

Beyond the Pandemic

Now that Alessandro Cassano has, in one way or another, expanded his horizons to a global scale, he wants to fulfill his dream of starting a project that could go beyond the Alps, and potentially reach Spain, another country he grew to love. At the same time, Cassano has not forgotten about his physical facilities and is looking forward to opening a fitness center in Parma, as well as patenting another piece of gym equipment.

Final Thoughts

Cassano’s story proves that every crisis can either bring out the best or worst in people. It’s simply up to the individual how they will react or adapt. In his case, he was able to adapt by observing the proper mindset to emerge victorious no matter what trials lay ahead.
