amakar

Amakar Digital is an Award-winning Cinematographer, Dop & Director that has worked with brands link Mtv, Complex Magazine, Noisey, Just Eat, Mercedes Benz, Gaga Milano, CaRasatti and more. Coming from humble beginnings he paved his own way in the entertainment industry shooting music videos and fashion films and has shot over 450 videos independently within his time. He has since then transitioned into working with elites in the business world and is now a leading Cinematographer in the business of helping entrepreneurs and businesses alike sell high ticket services and products at scale as fast as possible in 2022.

He is now also focusing on helping aspiring young filmmakers understand the in’s and out of the filmmaking and entertainment industry and how to establish brand authority and build profitable businesses.

Q1. HI! THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO CHAT WITH US! CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF?

Thanks for the time you’ve taken to interview me, my name is Amara Karim, I’m a Cinematographer/content creator. I cater to elites and celebrities within the industry. I have come from a background specializing in music videos and fashion films and have worked with brands like MTV, complex magazine, Noisey, Netflix etc. I am now in the business of helping entrepreneurs and businesses alike sell high ticket services and products at scale as fast as possible. 82% of all traffic this year will come from video. It’s important that you’re able to stand out and sit amongst elites in your niche/sector if you want to succeed and I aim to help make that possible for everyone I work with.

Q2. THE “CONTENT CREATOR” TITLE IS RELATIVELY NEW TO THE INDUSTRY. WHAT IS A CONTENT CREATOR FROM YOUR PERSPECTIVE AND WHAT TWIST DO YOU ADD TO YOUR CONTENT TO MAKE IT CINEMATIC?

A content creator is essentially someone who is able to express any creative idea from the mind or clients mind into a format/style that can be viewed and understood by everyone in my opinion. It’s as complex as it is simple with the variation of content styles that can be created in this day and age.

Everything can be made filmic in regards to how its captured. and everything i do has a filmic texture.

Q3. EVERY BRAND IS SO UNIQUE AND DIFFERENT. HOW DO YOU COME UP WITH A STRATEGY FOR TELLING A BRAND’S STORY?

I find that if the focus is on the brand creators story, and not just the brand itself it enables the fans or community to be able to connect with the brand on a deeper level. Instead of coming up with fancy strategies, I am focused more on the core of the brand creator and why they created the brand in the first place. Everyone loves a story. Being able to focus on the brains behind the brand and then capture it as a film is my main focus whenever I work with a brand.

Q4. HOW YOU MEASURE THE PERFORMANCE OF YOUR VIDEO CONTENT MARKETING?

The proof is in the pudding! As i rule of thumb I look at the feedback to gauge the success and impact of a campaign or a project but there is no better proof than analytics. Also sales, When my clients tell me they have acquired new customers purchasing high ticket services or products, I know the conversion has been successful.

Q5. WHAT IS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE YOU FACE AS A CINEMATOGRAPHER/CONTENT CREATOR?

I guess one of the biggest challenges I face is expressing the deep values of a brand in a way that can cater to the average person whose attention span is lower than a few seconds. A lot of brands and businesses I have been honored to work with have really deep.

enriching stories behind their logos and verified ticks, but being able to showcase this in a way that the average everyday person can understand can be a bit tricky at times. But in the end, I am always ab le to produce a masterpiece haha.

Q6. CAN YOU DESCRIBE A TIME WHEN SOMEONE DISAGREED WITH YOUR ARTISTIC VISION?

Before i started to cater more to businesses and entrepreneurs, i was heavily involved in the entertainment industry where to put it as bluntly as possible there is generally a lot of ego with the sort if individuals who want to be stars, and good for them because that often can very well be the reason that people buy into their characters in the first place. As I transitioned I found that businesses had more of a vision of sharing visions or stories in a raw form and I have since been able to share the common goal of making that happen with them. It’s nice to be able to help people share their story.

Q7. HOW DO YOU COPE WITH BEING AWAY FROM HOME FOR EXTENDED PERIODS?

You just get used to it. As the saying goes, a business man’s day is never the same. The moment you choose this path, moving around constantly is just part of it, you have to be wherever good opportunities are the way I see things.

Q8. WHAT IS THE MOST REWARDING PRODUCTION YOU HAVE WORKED ON SO FAR?

A collaboration I did last year with luxury real estate business (Million Pound Homes), We shot the video and literally 5 days after the video had been edited and put out the luxury home was sold for the asking price of £5 Million pounds. It’s nice to know that cinematic film played a part in the buyers decision.

Q9. WHAT’S SOMETHING WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOU THAT MIGHT SURPRISE US?

I don’t have 1 single GCSE, I don’t know what it’s like to go to a college or a university and dropped out of school in year 8.

I have been completely self-taught from the age of 14. I also am very passionate about sharing my skills with young aspiring creators and filmmakers i am sometimes invited to universities to give lectures that teach I’m trying to take everything I have learned through working with elites and help upcoming entrepreneurs and businesses as much as I’m able to.

Q10. ANY UPCOMING PROJECTS YOU CAN TALK ABOUT?

I have a private project I am working on for Netflix a that features my mentor who is a business/real estate mogul and a bunch of different entrepreneurs. I don’t I want to talk too much about the project right now but in due time all will be seen.

Q11. WHERE CAN OUR READERS FIND YOU ONLINE?

I’m everywhere although I’m mainly active on instagram www.instagram.com/amakardigital  Give me a shout anytime and let’s connect, I’m always happy to meet new people.
