Meet Lady Entrepreneur Brendy Batenburg

Brendy Batenburg is a young Dutch-Liberian creative entrepreneur who is perceived to be smiling all the time. Being raised in a family of low income and having to always work for her own money led her to see what’s truly valuable in life: loving friends and family who support you in your journey. She learned that happiness comes from gratitude and, with a big smile, she wanted to bring in the same energy to her business.

With an insatiable love for stories of people from different cultures and a bachelor’s degree in development studies with a direction in sociology, she always found behavior interesting. Even online, we still have the innate instinct to be social. 

She pursued a life as a digital nomad and, last year, she worked in Singapore, Silicon Valley, and Bali. She believes that remote work is here to stay, and she has committed herself to a mission to help passionate entrepreneurs worldwide get more reach on LinkedIn.

For over 7 years, Brendy has been active on LinkedIn and has seen the evolution of the platform and the evolution of the people in it. From a rather static platform, only a few people knew about a thriving place for anyone who wants to share ideas, experiences, and connections in the professional field.

Brendy founded Shine Online initially for herself because she really enjoyed sharing her knowledge to help others so she used to teach young professionals and students how to use LinkedIn for their future, the many possibilities the platform offers, and what you can do with it to achieve your goals.

After three years, Shine Online switched its focus to freelance coaches and small businesses as she noticed a high demand for starting entrepreneurs wanting to get more traction online. 

Taking her business full-time at the start of the pandemic was a challenge for Brendy because she used to give her training in person, but she quickly thought: “What can I do now?” So she’s launched online courses, a monthly online Masterclass, and started writing her book. If you focus on the positive side, opportunities will present themselves to you. 

Shine Online’s human-centered approach has allowed them to connect with companies focused on the personal growth of their clients and help them regain the focus on marketing their own business and use LinkedIn for strategic marketing, constant communication and so much more.

Her company helps entrepreneurs maximize their profiles to reach the right targeted audience and business partners, so they’ll continue working with clients and partners they love, connect with them effortlessly and position themselves as experts in their respective fields through their content.
