Meet Luke Acree, President of Reminder Media

Luke Acree is the president of Reminder Media, a sales and marketing company that helps small business owners nurture leads by automating follow-up messages and providing the highest quality marketing support. He began his entrepreneurial journey with the goal of achieving freedom for himself and those around him, believing that success is about having the freedom to pursue what makes you happy.
What does your company do?
Reminder Media is a sales and marketing company that helps small business owners with what I believe is the most important aspect of business: keeping in touch with their database of clients and prospects. 50% of all leads are never nurtured, so businesses are spending money on acquiring leads only to lose them by not following up. But when businesses do try to follow up, their systems are too complicated. These small business owners end up buying systems they don’t use, and even if they do, they cut corners and end up with inefficient marketing.
We provide three things:
- We provide them with the highest quality marketing touchpoints, so they can send out the best follow-ups to their clients.
- We automate their marketing systems so that they don’t have to worry about cadences or what to send.
- We brand you as the business of trust in your industry.
At the end of the day, we want to make sure customers get the return-on-investment they need from their marketing.
What drives you to keep working hard each day?
I want to create a life of freedom for myself, my partners, employees and clients. That’s what keeps me going. I feel a sense of duty to keep going and help create that reality for all of us.
What are some of your biggest accomplishments?
I’m really proud of when we made the INC 5000 for the fourth year in a row. But going deeper than that, I’m proud of two things. I’m proud of building out our sales team. We went from basically no callers on the phone to over 100 and had to figure out how to take our business from outside face-to-face sales to this inside on-the-phone sales focus. The other thing I’m proud of is that I’ve been in the trenches since I joined the company. I did sales calls to teach my team how to do them. I worked with clients to teach my team how to handle them. I’m proud to have been this hands-on through the entire process.
How do you define success?
Success is about fulfilling your purpose in life and doing work that is meaningful. It’s about having the freedom to pursue what makes you happy.
Is there a motto you live by?
The difference between top producers and mediocre producers is that the top producers take action. It’s not intelligence or talent that matters in the end. It’s whether or not you acted.
What actionable tips would you recommend to someone who’s struggling to hit their goals?
First, wake up early, get to the gym, feed your body well, drink lots of water. Second, feed your spirit. Do gratitude exercises. Meditate. Focus on why you’re doing what you’re doing. Create a vision board to remind you of where you’re headed. Third, feed your mind. What are you reading? What are you watching? Finally, commit to your calendar. If you’re building a business, set hours for prospecting, hours for client servicing, hours for understanding operations. This won’t happen if you just hope you’ll find time in the day. Set a schedule and commit to it.
