Meet The Entrepreneur Behind The Empowered Confidence Brand, Marina Abrahim

Marina Abrahim is a mom, brand, and business strategist, coach, and motivational speaker who has helped countless women around the world take hold of their dreams and aspirations.

Marina is the founder of Empowered Confidence, a firm whose mission is to provide a safe space that brings females together to build a community, prepare them for the future, and give them the ability to make overall better decisions, both personally and professionally.

Before birthing this life-changing platform, Marina worked with Yahoo! Tumblr & Yahoo! News to help develop digital media campaigns for some of the most recognized global and Fortune 500 brands.

In this article, Marina shares the inspiration for her brand, the obstacles she’s faced so far, and some gold nuggets for anyone striving to achieve success in life.

What inspired you to create your brand?

I moved to Boston from Egypt when I was a toddler with my parents. We struggled when I was growing up. and were in and out of relatives’ homes for five years. I grew up translating everything for my father, including a cancer diagnosis for him when I was 13. I also grew up watching my parents build something from nothing; as a result, the spirit of hard work and dedication was ingrained in me.

An immigrant and at one time a single mother who lacked confidence and direction, I have become a self-proclaimed “professional pivoter.” What does that mean? I continue to use adversities as fuel to achieve my goals. My drive and motivation is and will always be my son and building a beautiful life for him.

My brand, Empowered Confidence, is one that leads by example to teach females the importance of brand identity so they can break down barriers, feel confident, make money doing what they love, and reach their goals.

What obstacles have you faced so far, and how did you overcome them?

One major obstacle I faced was the lack of confidence in my personal and professional life. So I created three non-negotiable lists: one for my friendships, one for my relationships, and one for my career. Each list contained all the criteria I will not bend on! Setting and sticking to these lists has changed my life and what I allow in it.

During my layoff in December 2019, I realized that was my opportunity to take a shot at turning an idea into reality. I invested in myself and hired a business coach who helped me bring that idea to life. Invest in yourself; it will always pay off!

What is your best advice for someone who wants to grow in any area of their life?

Share your personal story! I found this quote online that I loved by an unknown source: “Never think that what you have to offer is insignificant. There will always be someone out there who needs what you have to give.” There is someone out there waiting to know they are not alone! You will feel empowered and build unwavering confidence once you start sharing and owning the things that make you, you!

You can start by journaling in the Empowered Confidence journal. Once you feel comfortable, start sharing it throughout social media. Before you realize it, it will feel like second nature to talk about the things you used to be insecure about.

Tell us about any new developments you might have.

Recently, I launched a 12-week group coaching program called Brand Business Accelerator that helps women unpack their personal stories, master social media, and create a profitable brand so they can start or grow their own business. Brand Business Accelerator is a three-part master course.

Your story: Focuses on extracting your strengths, conquering your fears, breaking down barriers, and unpacking your story.

Your brand: Focuses on building your complete brand. From understanding your service and your niche to creating brand briefs, brand kits, strategic content creation, mastering social media, and email marketing.

Your business: This is when each woman launches/relaunches their business! With this, numerous women can turn their side hustle into a full-time gig.

The next class of Brand Business Accelerator starts October 1, and doors open to apply September 14.
