Meta Verified: Is It Worth the Investment for Growing and Securing Your Presence on Social Media?

Joshua (Josh) Snoddy is a thought-leading digital marketing entrepreneur with insightful, knowledgeable, and expert thought-provoking perspectives. Here Josh goes deep on ‘Meta Verified’.

In today’s digital age, social media has become essential for businesses and individuals to connect with their audiences. Instagram and Facebook are two of the most popular platforms billions of people use. However, with the rise of fake accounts and impersonation, it has become increasingly more work to establish the authenticity of an account. Meta Verified is a subscription bundle to help users grow and secure their presence on Instagram and Facebook, but is it worth the investment?

Firstly, let’s talk about verification. It’s a valuable asset, no doubt about it. A verified account can help build trust with your audience, particularly if you’re a public figure, influencer, or business. However, it’s not a silver bullet that guarantees platform success. The quality of your content, engagement with your audience, and ability to build a community will determine your success on social media.

Meta Verified offers a range of features, including proactive account protection, access to direct account support, and increased platform visibility. The verification process uses a government ID to securely establish an account’s authenticity, helping your community know it’s the real person behind it.

Proactive account protection is another crucial feature of Meta Verified, offering protection from impersonation with proactive account monitoring and secure two-factor authentication. This helps to keep your account safe from hackers and impersonators.

Additionally, users of Meta Verified will get exclusive features like stickers on Facebook and Instagram Stories and Facebook Reels, as well as 100 Stars a month on Facebook, allowing them to show support for other creators. With direct account support, users can get help from a real person on account issues. (Which is a welcome change!)

The most significant advantage of Meta Verified is increased visibility. The subscription bundle can help users expand their reach with increased visibility and prominence in some parts of Instagram and Facebook, like comments, searches, and recommendations. The increased visibility can help individuals and businesses gain more followers and grow their platform presence. However, this increased visibility doesn’t necessarily translate into higher engagement or conversions.

However, the service is currently only available in Australia and New Zealand for individuals who are 18 years or older, and it is yet to be available in all regions or for businesses. The subscription fee is $14.99 USD/month on iOS/Android and $11.99 USD/month on the web (Facebook only). Users interested in Meta Verified but not currently based in Australia or New Zealand can join the waitlist to be notified when the service becomes available in their region. While this might seem like little money, it can add up, particularly for individuals just starting on social media. I’m a big believer in organic growth and building a following by creating valuable content, engaging with your audience, and leveraging the power of word of mouth. You don’t need to spend much money to be successful on social media, but you could fast-track it.

Overall, Meta Verified offers a range of valuable features that can help users establish and grow their presence on Instagram and Facebook. Verification, account protection, exclusive features, direct account support, and increased visibility are all valuable assets for businesses and individuals looking to succeed on social media. Don’t get me wrong, verification is valuable, but it’s not a silver bullet that guarantees success on social media. If you want real success on social media, I highly recommend consulting a digital marketing expert. Regardless of your decision, focus on creating valuable content, engaging with your audience, and building a community. That’s the key to success on social media.
