Montrece Ransom, JD, MPH, ACC And The Empowermenteur Coaching And Consulting Group Are On A Mission To Cultivate Belonging And Empower High-achieving Women

Are you looking for a professional coach who listens, who empowers you to be your authentic self? Meet Montrece Ransom. As an ICF-certified coach, keynote speaker, and renowned belonging strategist, Montrece has created a coaching practice and brand centered on empowerment and belonging. Montrece partners with individual clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires her clients to maximize their full potential. When delivering keynote speeches and consulting with organizations, she instills the importance of cultivating cultures of belonging.

“The heart of my coaching practice is affirming to my clients that anywhere they are called or aspire to be, they belong. It is a basic human need. It is a sense of psychological safety and security. We all—no matter our background, ethnicity, age, gender, gender identity, race—have a need to feel this sense of belonging.”

 A Purpose Driven Pivot

Montrece is passionate about, and has a rich background in, helping others reach their full potential.  Having worked in public health at the federal level for 20 years, she built a career as an award-winning expert in public health law and policy— speaking on thousands of stages, creating a novel training and workforce development program, and mentoring hundreds of students and professionals.

In 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic, she took charge of her own dreams, and earned an Executive Leadership Coaching Certification from Georgetown University, and then took a leap of faith in herself and created her own coaching practice, The Empowermenteur Coaching and Consulting Group.

Today, through individual and group coaching, her Your Career Owned Mastermind and her Coaching Academy, Montrece applies her S.T.R.U.T. methodology to help high achieving women (and a few good men) strut into their next phase of life with authenticity and confidence. She has a proven track record of helping clients manifest sustainable, measurable results, a stronger sense of belonging, remove limiting beliefs, and design actions toward a more aligned career, business, and life. Montrece’s clients consistently mention they appreciate her honesty, realness, and unique approach as their coach.

“The Empowermenteur brand and my coaching style is unique to me. I am an ICF certified coach, but what I offer as a coach, how I deliver it, and how I help my clients is unique to me and my brand. After seeing the impact my work has had on students and young professionals during my time in federal service and doing the work to remove my own limiting beliefs, I knew I had to take a chance and start The Empowermenteur.”

Belonging: The Foundation of the Brand

Montrece knows what it feels like to not feel a sense of belonging in the workplace. As the only black woman in the room for much of her career, she was always questioning whether she “deserved” to be there or whether she was good enough. She remembers crying every day driving to work for the first few years of her career as a public health lawyer.

“Today, I know nothing happened to me. It was all happening for me—to prepare me to coach others who are crying on their way to work and who don’t feel like they belong in their work environments, and other shared spaces. A sense of belonging is something we must first create for ourselves—by removing limiting beliefs, building a support system, and becoming more self-aware. This work is critical because belonging is truly the gateway to full self-esteem and confidence. It is so basic to our humanity that we must feel safe in our environments before we can truly show up as whom we are authentically.”

What’s next for Montrece and The Empowermenteur brand? Montrece is currently earning a certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and is always looking for ways to up her skills as a coach. She is accepting new clients for the summer, and she has also recently been chosen to serve as the commencement speaker for Chamberlain University’s College of Nursing and Public Health.
